So I've been using mechanical 18650 mods exclusively since I started vaping. I had a few regulated devices, rdna30, rdna40, etc. I've finally picked up a dual unregulated 18650 box mod. I'm wondering if anyone has any pointers for me. I'm by no means an expert on mechanical mods, but I do understand battery safety, ohms, voltage, wattage, and I'm pretty good at building coils.
That being said, let's throw out an example of why I'm writing this. I recently purchased a Doge V2, threw on a dual 24g .25 build (which is usually what I build on everything), but on a single 18650 mechanical, it just doesn't perform. I threw that atty on my box mod this morning (which according to the meter is firing at 8.2V?) and it honestly fucking psychotic. Like insta-fire, atom-bomb, coils-on-steroids type shit. I got giddy and decided to take a short pull, maybe 2-3 seconds max, MEGA dry hit city, the wicking just can't keep up.
So enough babbling. Any pointers? What types of builds are good for box mods? Is there a certain ohm range I should be aiming for? I like nice warm (almost hot) vapes and I'm a flavor chaser.
Any pointers given are much appreciated. Thanks VU fam!
