Preferred mods for MTL tanks?

I'm a newer vaper who is extremely overwhelmed by all the mod choices. Can you recommend favorites that are appropriate for MTL tanks?

I have been using Joyetech Ego AIOs and a Penguin to quit smoking (4 weeks ago, today!). They've definitely done what I've needed them to do, since it has been ridiculously easy thus far. But I find I'm after better flavor now, and am going to be purchasing a couple MTL tanks to try - a Nautilus Mini for certain, and I'm also waffling over the Triton, Aerotank, and Genitank (any thoughts on these last three?).

I am not a fan of the thin/long spinner type batteries. I would prefer a small box, or even a stouter/chubbier tube would be alright. I don't anticipate trying DTL any time soon, but something with enough oomph to try it later would be an additional perk... not a necessity. My budget is under $50. My juice is 50/50, 9 to 12mg. I have no preference regarding integrated or removable batteries, and would be comfortable with either. I'm located in the US, so have numerous shopping options.

Thank you for any advice!

There are smaller 2 battery mods that will get you plenty of power for the future if you end up moving to DTL.

Removable batteries are ideal because if the batteries wear down and stop holding a charge you can just replace them. Alot of internal batteries are more complicated to replace.

You can use any mod (battery) that you want with a 510 connection. I like the Eleaf Pico for low wattage and price. It is small, sturdy, and reliable. You will just run it at low wattage with the right atomizer. The Nautilus 2 is good for flavor. My favorite for flavor is the Chalice but that is an RDA. Also, the Kayfun is a great RTA for flavor. I like a mod that will do at least 75 watts so that I get longer use in between charges but that is my preference. I run my coils around .8 ohms at 15 watts. Great flavor!

Although you said your budget is under 50. If you go removable batteries that could get a tad expensive being you need to purchase batteries and charger. I'm not sure what your current mods use so I don't know what you have already. If you go dual battery mods you need to pair up new batteries of the same brand and type.

Everything I'm currently using has integrated batteries, so yes I would need to get a charger & batteries in that case. I have some Amazon credit burning a hole in my pocket, and I know I can at least get a charger there which would help. My $50 budget would be just for the mod itself - I can go over that a bit for a charger/batteries, by using that amazon credit or dipping into what I've budgeted for the tank(s). I do have flexibility with price, within reason.

I've seen the Eleaf Pico mentioned before, but usually in conjunction with DTL setups. So I'm glad to know it would work in my scenario. I'm definitely going to take a good look at that one, since it seems to be popular!

Thanks for the RDA/RTA recs, too. I've just dipped into DIY juice, so I expect it is only a matter of time before I take a look at rebuilding as well. This will be good info to have when the time comes!

DTL only refers to the tank you can have a 300 watt mod and run a DTL tank only thing that matters is that you set the wattage to where you need it.

That being said I think there are some mods that have a base voltage or wattage that is set too high for alot of MTL tanks. Just looks to see the min wattage usually it will say 1-200 watts or 6-200 something like that.

There are some people liking the minikin v2 it looks small and I think it's cheap.

My Nautilus Minis are very happy on my iStick TC40W because it is pocket friendly but it also goes right on my 250 Watt MOD's when I want to have more power.

Thanks for the input everyone. I almost went with the Pico, but then decided against it only because I didn't want any future tank purchases to have a size limit (I think it only takes up to a 22mm). I ended up ordering an istick TC60W instead, which I never would have stumbled across if the pico & istick 40W hadn't been mentioned to me here. You've been very helpful, and this newbie really appreciates it!

@Bahookie in my opinion you made a good choice since my iStick is still going strong years later. The built in battery is still providing a long life no matter what the detractors have to say! With a removal-able cell in the TC60W you should get a good vaping experience. Good Luck
