HTC's next VR headset is nearly here. The Vive Cosmos will cost $699 and is set to release on October 3. But anyone who's interested (and has a VR-capable PC) can lock in their preorder now at Amazon.

The Vive Cosmos offers a number of improvements over the original Vive hardware. One of the key selling points is that it doesn't require any external sensors to operate. All of the (six) tracking cameras are on the headset itself. Vive Cosmos has upgraded LCD panels that offer 2880 x 1700 combined resolution, with a 90Hz refresh rate.
