Pulling the trigger on first RDA & RTA

Wanted some opinions before pulling the trigger on my first RDA and RDAs. I am looking for something easy to build on since building will be new to me. Roomy with different build options, not something I will just use for a little bit and sit there and collect dust.

For a RDA, the Tsunami looks like it might fit what i am looking for.
Then for a RDA, the Theoem.
Also have the Cleito, so figured I would toss in the RTA system since I like that tank.

Opinions?

I should also add, I already have some Kanthal A1 26 & 28 GA wire, ordered to start with.
Just need to pick out a damn torch.

I just bought 4 Boreas, 2 Merlins, and 2 Allerias. I went a little overboard but I want to be prepared for Vapocalypse. They're supposed to be easy to build on from what I hear. Never built before but I guess I'm going to have to learn. I also picked up 50 Notch coils just in case I really suck at building. lol

I agree with the velocity the clone is really cheap and works very well and is easy to build on. I'd think twice on the tsunami only because of leaking issues because of the bottom airflow. As for tanks the boreas, aromamizer supreme, and the griffin 25 are all great choices all are easy to build.

A torch is nice to have,, but not Needed to build. Just heat/massage coils on your device before wicking.
A DMM is a needed device,, or at least an ohm reader..

I really like the Petri, so much that I bought an authentic. But not the best for first time builders.

I will same that money on a torch and go in on a ohm reader. I was thinking of for now, throwing it on a regulated mod to see what it reads at. But that does sound safer.

What is a DMM? Digital Multi Meter? IDK, have 2 USA fire meters and thought I was covered....

If your not that good with your hands it might be a lil hard the few times but other than that it's not rocket science you'll get it.

I have a Tsunami clone, and not real impressed. It's collecting dust on the rack now. It's ok, can get big vapor out of it with certain builds ie; framed staples or aliens or the like and high wattage, but just not good flavor and like any bottom airflow dripper atty it's going to slobber and make a mess on top of your mod.

A DMM can read ohms, volts dc,,ac & resistance. Temp, continuity, barrier resistance, transistors. Electronixs is my hobby so I had mine way before vaping was invented..

I was thinking bottom airflow to start, to avoid the added hassle of lining up airholes in addition to dripping. If my logic is more likely to result in leaking for a building noob, what are some better RDA options?

I think a 2 post deck, deeper juice well, and avoidance of a huge or tiny tip would also be my preference.

For me, it's not about clouds vs flavor, but rather the least inconvenience in living with an RDA on the go. I'm about 80% DL 20% MTL, so not looking for anything very restrictive to start.

Suggestions appreciated.

Unless you buy a super expensive multimeter, it won't have the accuracy needed for our purposes when measuring resistance. 1/10th of an ohm isn't enough. Ohm checkers made for vapers measure to the 1/100th, are inexpensive and are commonly used as a build stand.

You do need to be careful dripping with a bottom airflow RDA because it's easy to drip down the airhole and cause leaks. Over dripping though can cause leaks as well on side airflow, but lining up with the coils is actually pretty easy.

Some RDAs have top airflow. I've been enjoying the Sapor and Druid. And no worries about over dripping :)

Ahh, Good info on the bottom airflow, makes sense, kind of what i thought would be the cause.

I realized that Memorial day was 1 week away, so I am holding off in hopes there will be a sale or 2 I can hop on.

Even without user error ie; dripping into the airflow, condensation and coils spitting in conjunction with our friend gravity, there will be some moisture coming out the bottom. Even side airflow gets juicy around the airholes. As Roxy noted, top airflow is the only way to avoid that, but some feel that top airflow mutes flavor.

btw, FT has the Boreas (black) for $22. #1 RTA imo...

I just got a velocity clone, and it's awesome. Easy to build on, good airflow options, and side airflow that due to it's design is easy to line up with your eyes closed as you twist and it automatically snaps into place with airflow right in front of the coil.
