...at what diameter? 28g is a good gauge to go with for a quad at .3. Might wanna go up to 30 for a .5 though. I like 6 wraps of 28 on a 3/32, myself but that's gonna put you below .3. 7 at that diameter should get you at or just above .3. It'll be .32-.34, if memory serves.
Whatever, just use
this. Just plug in the numbers (wire guage, coil diameter, desired resistance, and number of coils) and it'll tell you how many wraps to do.
I'd also suggest a dual parallel over a straight quad, but that's just me. I think it ramps up a bit quicker, fits easier, and is simpler to wick. Still technically a quad, too.
