Question about using a spring in my top cap?

Hey there. I been having some irritating troubles lately with my adjustable center pin screwing/unscrewing itself.... I was wondering if using a spring (that I took out of the firing pin of an old mod) and using that to keep the center pin from getting loose was a safe idea or not.

Here are a couple pictures of what I am trying to do.

It's a perfect fit but I was wondering if it would cause a short or be potentially dangerous to do. I'm not the brightest when it comes to currents and electricity and stuff. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you! :)

Oh! And it is a Panzer Black Hawk clone that I have.

The spring can always slip sideways and create a short between the positive 510 and the negative female thread. If you do this, be careful. I'd just put in a small rubber o-ring under the screw to keep it from unscrewing.

Ah! Never thought of using an O ring. Thanks a lot! :D

I'd look for a spring that fits closer to the diameter of the screw if you go that route, that helps eliminate the amount it can shift and cause a short. With that said, I had a very similar setup as the one you're describing (almost identical) and the spring worked like a champ for me, never slipped at all.

This is a VERY common fix used for this very issue. PRO TIP: When you get rid of an atomiser or mod....keep the accessories...especially the o-rings. When you bin an unwanted drip tip (like the pointless lung collapsing ones that come with Kayfuns), KEEP the o-rings.

Thanks for the tips! So far the O-Ring thing is holding pretty well. Just need to hold out till payday... Time to retire this mod and buy a new one :3
