Questions about VV mods.

Hey folks! I'm Getting a new VV mod soon from discodocvapor.com but I don't really know anything about them. Other than mechanical mods I don't really have a clue.

This mod is a "Variable Voltage with 5 amp regulator or a dual regulator and output voltmeter."

So how does this work? You can adjust the voltage but not the wattage? With a 5 (or 10) amp regulator what is its adjustable range? How do you build on it? Micro-coils and sub-ohms or something different?

He does not go into much detail about them, but seeing as its a V.Volt mod, i will assume that it has a max of 20 watts that it pumps out. Slightly sub ohm, probably around the .6 to .8 range. A good person here to send a conversation invite to might be @Hobby Kid , he is a great moderator and he builds as well. He might be able to give you some better answers. Hope you get your questions answered my friend. Stay Foggy!

HMMM I have a Dual 26500 Beast Box from Mr E-Lquid VV Goes from about 3.3 volts to 7.4 volts with a 6 amp limit. Have to remove batter cover to adjust voltage with a potentiometer thumbwheel. I use a inline 510 voltmeter to check where I have the voltage set. thumb wheel just a little turn changes voltage alot. Lowest build .5ohm set at about 4 volts

thanks for the compliment ;)

sorry for that late reply but i'm very busy at current.

well even with a 'vv only' mod you're still getting wattage. you just don't get to set it in the same way. if it's a 5amp max output it won't fire very low resistance coils at optimum performance - in other words it won't fire at the wattage required for a sub ohm coil.

i couldn't see what board that time was using. can you post a link or does it say in the description? if it's an LM board i'd save my money if i were you.

Thanks Hobby Kid nice to meet you! I got to chat with the modder DrDave on his stream yesterday. He showed me how it works and helped me out with coils and batteries and all that good stuff. Without a electrical engineering degree it takes some time for this ohms, volts and watts thing to sink in.

Amperage is calculated as voltage/resistance, so the resistance you can run will depend on your voltage setting. Not sure what your device can do, but my vv device fires up to 5 volts. If you're running at the max voltage (let's say 5 volts), then with a 5 amp limit you need at least a 1 ohm coil (5v/1ohm=5amps) and this will give you your maximum wattage. Wattage = amperage * voltage = voltage^2 / resistance, so if the device goes up to 5 volts, then you can run up to 25 watts (5amps * 5volts).

Looks nice but the batteries won't last long at higher voltages so you will want to stock up and carry spares with you.

The vv mod is so simple structure from the picture , Maybe some details you ignored ,like board ,LED screen ,Capacity . How about this mod ? ;) ;)
