Rafale, Crown 2, or Baby Beast RBA?

I'm tired of spending so much damn money on coils so I want to grab at least one or two RBAs and give them a shot. My only experience with them was the stock coil that came with the TFV4, and either I was doing something seriously wrong or that thing sucked!

I don't own a Rafale, but since all the Crown 1 and 2 coils (now that they've got the 2s sorted out) are vertical coils, I was considering getting the Rafale RBA instead of either of the Crowns because they're both horizontally aligned. I also have the Baby Beast and love it, but I read that the RBA is a bit flimsy.

Oh, and another option is the Cleito, but I don't use that tank as much any more so I just now thought of it. I'd love to hear from anybody with experience with these products and some advice on which would be the best for someone who has used pre-built coils exclusively for over three years.

One other thing I'm considering is the iJoy Tornado Nano, since it's got the option of both coils and a rebuildable deck (Plus I can get one for like 8 bucks at VaporBeast right now).

I love the Avocado 24. Really good flavor and clouds. Just wick it so the ends are just through the wick holes, not dangling down in the tank. You just have to remember to do the Genny tilt to get the juice up on them. No leaks for me. I like them better than the Azeroth which I also have. I find I like the fill port better on the Avocado. I also love the Boreas and the Supreme. They are just a little more finicky with the wicking than the Avocado, but good all around tanks.

I never got into the bought coil type tanks that have a RBA section as an after thought.

you are probably better off with a true RTA something like an aromamizer supreme or boreas if you are doing dual coils.
That's kind of what I suspected. I was just leaning toward an RBA to get my feet wet and not drop as much cash for something I might not use. That said, I'm not worried about rebuilding being over my head, and since an RTA keeps me from having to go full-dripper (requiring fairly constant re-wetting of the wick, a practice that would last all of two days before my wife stabbed me with a kitchen knife or vice versa :blah:), I might as well jump into the deep end of the pool with the big boys. The baby pool is warm and all, but it's full of piss and probably some other bodily fluids I'd rather not know about. o_O

it's a great RDTA. I'm not a fan of that style too much personally but the avocado 24 was my 2nd favorite i tried. azeroth was my favorite

Avocado it is! Is there a specific model I should be looking for that is better than the others?

I'm assuming the "Genny Tilt" is a reference to the Genesis deck it uses. I did a little searching but couldn't find an exact definition. Does "Genesis" refer to the tank having the juice reservoir on bottom and the build deck on top?

One more stupid question and I'm finished. Do you have to tilt all bottom reservoir/top deck RTAs because the wick, as you suggested, shouldn't go all the way down into the tank, which makes the tilt necessary in order to get juice up to the cotton?

You have to tilt the rdta style to get it to wick. That's why I prefer an rta instead. That's the genny tilt.
Also the 24. Make sure you get the 24mm version of the avacado

Limitless - meh, not bad but wasn't impressed especially in the flavor department
Avocado - decent
VGod Trick Tank Pro - Excellent, just excellent. Build quality is superior to the two above, fill hole is also far superior to the above. With the bottom air it's got killer flavor and damn good vapor production

Crown 2 - The RBA is excellent, very easy to build on

Yeah, the guys at one of the local B&Ms that is the most overpriced but unfortunately has the best juice selection in town are trying to sell me on the new Limitless. I swallow hard and buy juice or the occasional coil from them when I'm waiting for a shipment to come in, but I'll cut off my pinky finger before I buy gear from them. 200% markup is just a bit much for me to accept.

Good to hear about the Crown 2 RBA. Does the horizontal coil not change the flavor/airflow much compared to their normal dual verticals? That's the main reason I was looking at the Rafale.

I've messed a bit with vertical coils and I do have the VRBA for the Rafale which fits in the Crown II. What I don't like about them is you can't really pulse the coils. I really haven't noticed much if any difference other than air flow. I'm not a fan of the VRBA, I much prefer the Crown II RBA. You can build a vertical coil in the Crown II RBA if you so choose.

200% markup, yeah that's more than a bit steep. Local B&M I hang out they do have a mark up but it's respectable and I will buy hardware there along with juice. They have a very limited hardware selection (small shop) but great juice. Plus they're excellent so I like to support them as much as I can, they're the ones also that got me off the Stinkies ;)

Check out the VGod Trick Tank Pro, it really is an awesome tank. It's become my main vape since getting it.

Thanks! I've got another B&M that I go to and they carry TELEOS and Circus Cookie, but those are really the only two juices that I buy there. Their prices are much closer to online and the guys are much more knowledgeable and don't do pressure sales. However, between Pinup, Liquid State, Looper, Coil Glaze , Bam Bam's Cannoli, and I don't know how many others of my favorites, I can't stay away from the first shop when I run out of juice and I really need some BBC, Betty, or something that doesn't taste like fruit loops at all but is ridiculously good anyway!

I've heard of the Trick Tank before, but haven't read much about it. Thanks for the advice. I'll check it out.

You can find 'premium ' juice online pretty cheap. Here's 1 vendor I buy from. That's 270ml (3x 90ml) for $65. So that would be less than $8 for 1 30ml unicorn bottle of cannoli.
Right now they also have a 10% discount.

If you want to get away from $$$ disposable sub-ohm coil get a dedicated rta/rdta. They have a larger build deck than those rba you get with sub-ohm tanks. How about $5 for a well reviewed rta? Check the clearance section of vaporworld if interested.

Thanks! I actually get emails from EJuicedirect.com and have bought Bam Bam there twice in the past few months. They definitely have the best prices and most of the lines of juice I'm looking for.

Funny you should mention Vaporworld. They're based in OKC, I'm in Tulsa, which is about an hour-and-a-half away. I've been in their B&M twice on my way through town. I've also ordered from them many, many times. Ecig.com is another OKC based company (they ship from there, anyway, although their B&Ms are in Austin and Arlington, Texas) that beats just about everybody that isn't based in China, and some that are, on prices for gear. Neither one has much in the way of great juice, but for coils, tanks, and mods, you can't go wrong. Plus, their stuff gets to my house the day after I order it because I'm so close. I'm not sure if Oklahoma has some sort of subsidies or tax incentives for vape shops, but whatever the reason, the two online stores with the cheapest regular prices (non-sales) are in this state.

Hey, you won't hear me complain!

Go Pokes!

If you are looking at the Avocado you dont want the 22 or the regular 24, you want the 24 bottom airflow, the last one they released.
Yeah, in doing some looking around, I realized that they had two versions of the 24. I wasn't sure which was preferable, though. Thanks for the advice!

Come on! Nobody has tried any of these? What about the Geekvape Avocado 24mm?
THIS is hands down, the best choice out of all of the ones you mentioned, in terms of flavor, ease of use, and overall appearance. Wicking isn't as easy as a regular RTA, but it's not hard either, it's just different. Once you get a hang of it, its second nature. I am an avid Avocado user, and I can't recommend them highly enough. The flavor is straight up UNMATCHED by ANY tank out there. Period.

And as far as this goes, I don't know if I agree. I JUST picked up the bottom airflow today actually, from a friend as a late xmas gift, and I haven't put a build in it yet, so I can't tell you which is better, but I can tell you that it has had some mixed reviews, when compared to the 24 or the 22. As far as the originals go, both the 22 and the 24 are amazing. Which to get is honestly personal preference. If you prefer single coil, the 22mm is definitely the way to go. If you prefer dual coil (beware of juice consumption) but then the 24mm is the way to go, as the filling is much easier. Refilling the 22mm in dual coil is a little more tedious. I run my 22mm in strictly single coil, and the flavor and performance beat any other tank I have ever used. So yes, Avocado FTW.
