raising vg level?

I'm still a noob, vaping maybe 3 weeks now. Trying to replace the cigarettes. I searched a bit through this section and didn't find an answer so I'll ask. I originally thought I wanted more throat hit so after vaping several flavors of 18mg 50/50 I bought 3 bottles of 18mg 65/35 and a couple 18mg 80/20 pg/vg (mt baker vapor and mt pocono respectively).

Turns out I prefer the flavor of the 50/50 over the harsh pain (yes pain) of the higher pg juices.

Rigs are:
an apire pegasus mod with triton tank.
A brand new crown tank
and an itaste vtr with cheapo ce6 (5?) clearomizers for mouth to lunging.
And an evic vtc mini kit coming saturday!

The higher pg juices are harsh in ALL my tanks using all methods.
In fact I drained the triton of it and filled back with peanut butter 50/50 for work ,last night and I can still taste it in that tank now (14 hours later).

So... the ? is...do I just buy some unflavored vg juice and add it to the high pg blends??

You certainly can add some VG, but it'll likely reduce your flavor a bit, and will definitely reduce your nic. High PG in that Triton is probably killing you, LOL. Another route you could take is to order those flavors again in max VG, lower or zero nic, then combine. But, yes, in the short term, adding VG will help.

You're really going to enjoy your new VTC mini. I adore mine!

Yes, the VTC Mini is my go to for TC for SS coils (requires Firmware V2.0!). I have three Crown tanks with 0.5 Ohm SS coils running on it. I recently put my Triton V2 with it's replacement coil on it, and didn't switch to power mode. It was working in TC for SS as well.

Thanks for the replies. I went to yet another vape shop today and was basically told the same thing about it killing the nic level if I just add vg. Might chalk it up as a 5 bottle loss to the learning curve. Maybe buy a few of them as max vg and mix. Who knows. Right now i'm cig free for the whole day and that's what matters.

Those five bottles aren't a loss. They're now ingredients.

Grab an e-juice calculator that will allow you to add base and target levels for two juices. I got mine during those dark days while I was at... um... that other forum. It's an Excel spreadsheet that I tweaked to my liking. Don't even remember if it had a name.

Steam Engine has a juice calculator, but I've never used it. I only mention it because SE is awesome and is referenced here all the time for coils.

That's a very good point. Chances are with the higher powered tanks, you won't be at 18mg for very long. I started out at 24 and dropped to 18 in a week. That was a little over 2 years ago and I'm at about 9 right now with protanks. I've gotten some tanks that pack more of a punch lately, so that's gonna have to drop again, LOL.

Don't toss your juice. You'll be able to use it, still.

With the Crown tank, you might even have to reduce the nicotine level as well.

Lower throat hit:
- reduce PG
- reduce nicotine
- increase VG

I've got a couple 12mg bottles ordered from grand rapids e-liquid (nice 50% off sale). Not tossing the high pg's. They're in the bathroom steeping wiith several other varieties :)

Raising the VG compared to PG will make it smoother, but I think that lends itself to seperation. The issue with PG is the high plasticy taste

I think everyone has said it.

My preference is a 70vg/30pg ratio. I can do 60vg40, but that's the lowest. A 50/50 bugs my throat.

Also, if you are chain vaping...vaping can cause some more dehydration. So drink more water. If you hate water mix a touch or mio in there and off you go.

Also, your body may be just saying "f" you where's my cigarette. Just give it a bit of time as well.
