Ray Park took the stage at Star Wars Celebration today to talk about his experiences playing that master of the double-bladed lightsaber, Darth Maul. He spent some time showing off his martial arts and saber moves, of course, while also recollecting about shooting The Phantom Menace. But when Q&A time came, Park was inevitably asked about Darth Maul getting his own standalone movie.
Park, not surprisingly, said he’d be totally down for such a project.
“I would love to be disciplined, like not eat anything for four months, and be shredded and do the whole tattoo body effect like you see in the comics and the novels,” he said. “I’d love to do that!”
And it seems the actor has an idea how Maul might’ve survived his Phantom Menace run-in with Obi-Wan Kenobi, combining the Clone Wars TV series and some Expanded Universe concepts.
