I'm slowly coming to understand the world of rebuildable drippers , is there some sort of guide to let you know

1. Certain amount of wraps with a certain gauge of wire will produce a certain amount of ohms/ resistance .

2. Resistance get cut in half if running parallel but if you do a dual coil parallel wrap does that number halve as well ?

1. http://www.steam-engine.org/coil.asp It works the opposite of what you're asking for, but it'll still work for what you're trying to work out.

Plug in the desired resistance, gauge/type of wire you're using, number of coils and diameter of what you're wrapping on. It will tell you how many wraps to do to get as close as possible to that resistance. Look at "half-wraps" if the coil is being wrapped so that both leads point in the same direction. The bigger number is how many you can see looking at the coil with the wraps pointed away from you, while the smaller number is how many you can see with the leads pointed towards you.

2. Yes. Consider a single parallel to be two coils, as the current is split across two sets of leads, much as it would be in a dual coil. A dual parallel has four sets of leads, twice as many as a regular dual coil, so the resistance would be half of a dual wrapped with the same length of wire.

So in the calculator above, when choosing "single, dual, triple..." you would choose "dual" for a single parallel and "quad" for a dual parallel.

Great explanation ! I was wondering why when I imputed single coil it would tell me to do 2 wraps I knew that wasn't what I was looking for but they def cleared things up I'm going to play around with this
