I've always been able to find mods, tanks, tools etc that match my needs. But when I start looking at RDA's I start go get overwhelmed/lost. My hope is that if I tell you guys some of what I'm doing and looking for you might be able to help.

- velocity style posts, supposedly good for newer builders
- really good air flow, I don't like super hot vape
- building with ss317l and n80 if relevant
- temp control sometimes
-510 connection
- top airflow, supposedly leaks less
- takes both single and dual coil builds without trouble
- newer model hopefully, 2015-2016, in my experience the 2014 and earlier stuff is a noticeable step down
-not a cloud chaser, not a flavor chaser, some mix of both I guess
- usually TC 450-500F at 75-100w, .25 ohm with SS in the AM, transition to RDA and power mode as day progresses
- price $50 or less, preferably

That's all I can think of atm, if you need more info on my vape style ask away! My hope is some people will throw out some models that I can start a list with and begin to narrow down.

Much obliged! Vape safe

well the tsunami 24 would work
i hesitate recommending it. it has the bottom airflow
it was my 2nd rda. and its OKish. but not as much flavor as my petri v2 clone

and its not that the flavor is bad, just you have to compete with the airflow on the tsunami to find the flavor.

But you can pick up a petri v2 clone on ebay for like 15-20 shipped from a usa vendor and that thing is awesome for flavor. it is not velocity, but. its not that bad to build on, just takes a few tries to get the hang of mounting both coils simultaneously. the petri was my first rda a month or so ago, and I dont regret it.

The other one I am looking at that might meet your needs is a wotofo troll v2 has everything you are looking for around $20 but I can not comment on flavor. It is the next RDA i want to try

I'm digging the wotofo troll a lot, that's at the top of my list now

Well, it sounds like you're asking for an actual Velocity...except for the ability to properly vent single coils. For that, the Troll v2 sounds like a winner - and actually one I may have to pick up and stash in my doomsday prepper hoard...

It's a damn good atty for the price. Also, any atty that has the "Velocity Style" deck can be run in single coil mode. Yoo just run it in between the posts (like this)

And, yes, that is a Troll v2 in the pic

Id strongly recommend the B'osun RDA although it does have some bottom airflow, it meets every other requirement of yours perfectly, assuming you don't mind a short drip tip when flavor chasing.

After remembering I had a discount coming my way from directvapor I went ahead and got the troll and the rta for my crown tank. Thanks for the input everyone. Loving this forum :)

Advice on the Crown rba. When you install the coil, install it with the leads on the bottom side of the coil. That will restrict the air a bit less for you

Since this is kind of on topic I'm just going to continue the discussion here for a bit. My buddy who introduced me to vaping is definitely a cloud chaser, so I've only ever really seen rda's for that face to face.

What makes an rda good for flavor chasing?

Your most likely going to get a different answer from anyone who replies, flavor is a very subjective preference. However I will say from my experience that favor very much relates to how much airflow you have, and how hot of a vape your build produces.

well im new to RDAs myself
but so far
im thinking SIDE airflow is better for flavor versus bottom airflow is better for clouds

Im also feeling the less distance from the coil to the top of the chimney is better for flavor

now this is only based upo my readings and the 2 rdas i have the petri v2 and tsunami 24

Haha as I said very subjective, for me personally I get MUCH better flavor from bottom airflow than side, but this helps show that your own experimentation is the true best way to achieve flavor

For best flavor, IMO, build the biggest possible coils that you can possibly fit into the deck. Minimize the "dead air space" in the chamber.

I prefer side airflow, especially as a new dripper. Bottom airflow is a lot more likely to leak if you over drip

I ended up getting the Wotofo troll, Running it with dual twisted 26g ss317L, 7 wraps and ohms out to about .25. Running it with 2/3 of the max airflow and absolutely loving it. Usually with temp control around 450-500 degrees with 85 watt ramp. The batteries can take it, don't worry. :) Once I fly home I will experiment with some Clapton, never made coils til this vacation and don't really feel like approaching it without my drill.

Was a great recommendation, so thanks to Matt, Dave, and whomever else mentioned it!
