Really High Resistance Readings

Each time I have put a new coil in, the resistance reading goes up. I started at 0.5 with the first coils and now, 6 weeks in, it is reading 0.82 I get really burnt tasting hits. The liquid in tank turns brown. It tastes and smells awful and a brand new coil is used up in 2 days. I have been in 2 different shops seeking advice. They have no suggestions for me. I feel like if I could reset to factory settings it would be ok. I have a Kangertech Nano. All original parts on it. Used only on wattage. Coils are Kangertech and 0.5 15w-60w. I average around 30 watt. Please help!!!

I have found lately with the warmer weather and air temperature I am turning the wattage down so I get the pleasant taste and cloud I am used to getting. Just a thought that might help you out because you might think like Tim Taylor and go with more power. Funny how less power can actually produce a smoother fuller cloud.

Good luck and Welcome to the :vu: I hope you enjoy your stay!

Thank you for your response. Do you think it is normal for the resistance to read so high? Shouldn't it be at 0.5 with the new coil?

I was referring to the burnt taste and not addressing the part about the resistance issue. I actually should have made that more clear in my response and my apologies for the confusion. I am not familiar with your gear but do not worry someone will be alone with suggestions or advice.

New coils should not be that bad with resistance. Over a period of time, say 2 weeks It's normal, but not 2 days. Either you are vaping the crap out of the coil with lots of tanks per day, or the coils are crappy. I'd take one of the crappy coils, rinse it in hot water and let it dry and try again. Every now and then there is a crap batch of coils in the market. I had a box of crappy heads which were authentic Kanger's. Turn the wattage down if the resistance increases and see if that helps. As resistance rises, more volts are applied to keep the selected wattage. That's why you are getting burned hits.
