Recommendations for small RTA/RDTA

I absolutely love my Qmini but it's not the most discreet device for stealth vaping. I was recently gifted a Smok Osub 40w which I absolutely love and has since replaced my Q Mini as my work device. Unfortunately my Goon, Avacado, Rose 3 and Ammit 25 are all way to large for this device so I'm looking for a solid RTA OR RDTA That will fit this device perfectly. I have been using my avocado as it's length is okay but it is way to wide.
For a work tank I'm not looking to kick out major clouds but flavour is essential. Both budget and boutique tanks are considered if anybody has any great but small tanks that they can recommend.

I'd say it depends on what performance you want
For small rtas with a restricted lung hit or mouth to lung I tend to prefer:
Serpent mini- single coil (22 mm diameter)
Erlkoenigin- single coil (19 or 20 mm diameter)
Aqua v2- dual coil (22 mm diameter)
Avacado 22 single or dual coil(22 mm diameter)
Kayfun mini V3 single coil (19mm)
Serpent flavor- single coil rdta (22mm)

+1 for the serpent mini. Single coil! With 40 watts and a 1350mAh battery on the Osub, you are going to want a higher ohm build of +0.50.

The others might be good too, but I don't have any experience with them to say yea or nea.

I would recommend against the smok spiral tank as it's 24.5 mm (which is even bigger than the avocado in your picture) and will overhang on your 22mm osub.

I only made the move from pre builds 3-4 months ago so I still haven't mastered how to find the perfect target resistance on a specific build. How do you work out what resistance you should be targeting on any particular setup?

As a general rule more wraps, bigger coil id and higher gauge wire will increase the ohms of your build.

I think you're doing fine and have the hang of things. Just experiment a bit to find what you like. Use steam-engine.org or a vape app to guide you.

Thanks for the reply. Saving battery life with different sized coils is what baffles me. Figuring out what size coil will be more battery efficient etc. It's something I definitely need to look into.

You save battery life because you're using less current; hence less power.
W=V(I)
I=V/R
If you fire a .3 at 40w and a 0.5 at 40w you'll use much less power for the 0.5, giving you a longer battery life.
I normally build my around a 0.6-0.7 on my single coil attys, since those are typically for when I want an all day setup without needing to bring extra batteries

I broke down and got another 2 of those fucking things.
Great little flavor chaser.
But at 24.5 mm diameters it might be a smidgen too big and make the mod look top heavy.
I'm loving my Ijoy Elf Tank.

It vapes absolutely perfectly and the flavour is amazing. It's also simple to build on. My only gripe are the grub screws which look like they will strip very easily. Just to be on the safe side I've ordered a batch of high quality stainless replacements which will come in handy for several of my decks.
It also looks awesome on my Osub, almost like it was made to fit and leagues better than the tank that was originally in the kit.

actually for regulated devices 40 watts is 40 watts. the resistance doesn't matter. the amp draw from the battery will be roughly (since single battery mod) 12 amps either way. and amp draw from the battery is what drains them. watts is a power rating so 40 watts equals 40 watts regardless of the resistance for a regulated device. in other words for your example it uses the same power, not more or less. the 3 factors of battery drain for regulated mods is watt setting, amount of puffs, and length of puffs. of course the mods efficiency plays a factor as well but not really needed to calculate for this situation. The reason one may get better life from a .5 compared to a .3 is because it'll usually need less watts to power it. but that depends on surface area. for OP's sake the simple solution is less watts needed to power the coils equals more battery life.

Wow! That's a great looking combo. That's a great stealth set-up.

Warning: Even though it's a 22mm single coil tank, it can still put out a real thick cloud. So if your definition of stealth is not letting anyone see you vape, be careful with this one.

Yea I kinda noticed that! It's a great little mod and the temperature control is a real deal maker too. The serpent mini is awesome but it does put out some hefty clouds so it's not quite a true stealth setup however, it's much easier to lumber around all day whilst at work and it's super easy to plug in and charge when at the office.

I'm with you! I can't get past how good that set up looks. That's why I'm looking for the serpent mini in gold.

The new osub 80 watt with baby beast looks good too & takes a single cell if you like external battery mods. I have the original 80 watt that came with the brit tank but the damn thing has the famous smok message "ohms too high or ohms too low" every time I fucking put batteries in or try access the menu. My first alien mod had issues too! But my second alien is fine & I have an h priv & xcube ultra that have been okay. Smok seem to be hit an miss. I noticed my local shop had the T-Priv in too. That looks really nice & really compact too. Smok mods like the Xcube have bbs (bulky box syndrome) hahaha.

Yes, it is single coil, and easy to build on

In prefer dual coil rdas. However, when Im going to be out all day and need a tank I reach for either the serpent mini or kayfun 5. I think the serpent mini looks much nicer especially for low profile.

I can't remember exactly what tank it was but I just couldn't jell with it. I was forever fiddling with it and getting dry hits and mouthfuls of juice. This may of been down to how I was using it and how I vape but for a tank using pre builds it should of been reliable and simple for anyone. It is the only tank I have ever owned that I have been so glad to replace that I have actually thrown it into the trash.
This doesn't necessarily mean that it's a bad tank, the next person may love it but when compared to the Serpent it's a completely different experience.

Yes, I also would never usually purchase a 2ml tank as it is simply too small and would need to be refilled far too often for a regular vape.
In this case however, I was specifically looking for a tiny "stealth" tank to fit on a small mod that I'm using for work. I only use it during breaks and the occasional sneaky toke in the loo so the tiny form factor is perfect for a stealth setup.
I have heard a whisper from a very reliable source that the 2ml TPD law will be overturned once we leave the European Union however, for now at least, it is illegal to sell tanks in the U.K. With a capacity over 2ml.

Eden would not even sell me the extension tank due to the TPD laws but they did point me to one of their retailers in Greece who were more than happy to sell me one. Extension tanks are in a legal grey area at the minute where nobody really knows whether or not they should be selling them but many retailers are still clearing old stock so non TPD products are still readily available.
Some retailers, like Eden, are playing it safe and will not sell them whatsoever but others are not bothered and are more than happy to take the risk.
We may start to struggle finding larger tanks as old stocks deplete but for now we are still seeing many manufacturers including larger tubes inside the packaging of their "TPD compliant" products.

The shop I go to didn't have any problem selling me one they said "I saw this & thought of you" and handed over the extender glass. I get a day out of my NautilusX. I don't miss refilling a baby beast every hour!

If you got the kit like my friend, then you got the Smok helmet. My friend gave it away cause she couldn't deal with a 2ml tank and buying disposable coils. I don't think she even tried Vaping on it.
