Red Wick

Pulled the wick out a little for a better view

So I recently started getting into RDAs and I currently have the Mutation X V4 but when I use it my wicks turn red inside the coil. I changed the screws, replaced the coils the only thing I haven't used is a different brand of Japanese Cotton(currently it's Kamikaze). I'm thinking it's just juice getting steeped in the coil but I could use a second opinion.

Oh the coil is TemCO Kanthal 26gauge 10 wraps around a 3/32 drill bit

Bump for help. I've never seen wicks turn red before like that. Is this DIY juice,premade ?

Oh right, I haven't put that down. It's premade. Milkman by onehitwonder is what I'm using in there. My wick doesn't get red anywhere else besides in the coil

I've heard about this, and experienced this before! Some sort of chemical reaction perhaps with the flavorings. I forget what I was vaping, or what I was using when this happened, but it's not uncommon

Thanks Amanda, still a mystery but I guess I'll put it aside until i figure out what's wrong. Until then, I'll try a different brand of Japanese cotton

It had nothing to do with the cotton - it was something to do with the juice reacting with the metal on the RDA.
