Reducing the nic while fooling the brain

So I've been analog free for almost 3 years, reducing my nic level as I progressed. Started @24mg and have worked down to 1mg currently. I got seriously stuck around the 12 mg mark. Then a friend gave me a simple suggestion that really worked well. Since this is the diy section I felt it belonged here!

Make 5 bottles of same flavor juice, start with 3 @ current nic level 2 at target level. Leave all unmarked and place them in a bag reach in and grab... you don't know what nic level is coming out. Next batch raise the # of lower nic bottles and repeat till they are all at the target level.
An easy way to step down the nic level while keeping that nic beast at bay.

You are almost exactly to the same time span and Nic level as I have done, I do believe that the brain can get fooled, I tried an experiment with a friend a few months back, lower nic mg, than what I was used to and made them not tell me which was which, seemed to be fine, found out it was only 6mg I was vaping, I had no idea, didn't freak, vaped it all at my same pace, But I still pacify myself at 12mg, my next step down will be 8mg

That's a great little 'mind trick' Broadside! Response Expectancy is the process at work here, and is the same process that powers the Placebo Effect and Hypnosis. While it can be used in not so helpful ways, your friend found a great way to use it to his or her benefit. The human mind is still one of our greatest mysteries, and yes, it can easily be tricked. Be careful what you think.
I took myself from 18mg to 3 in only 6 months, with absolutely no trauma or drama. When I run out of nic, I'll most likely vape at zero nic. I love vaping and have no plans on stopping, but if I have no dependency on nicotine at that point, I see no reason to add it to my mixes.
