Right now no that is how we have the program set, but will bring up the idea to the board for discussion. Maybe to open for wording that others may not like or be offensive.

I could be wrong, but isn't that just a rank/status area?

I'd thought it would change as time and posts went along, like most forums, but nothing so far. ;)

We are working on something like that. Its possible we are trying to figure out how to implement it.

Umm, it shouldn't. That's for fully managed stuff and entry-level hosting IMO.

I run a reseller server and I can do anything I want within the TOS of the provider.

If ya have root, you can just add and/or things yourself. I don't even use Fantastico or such, I do it manually . ;-)

True, we add our own, what ever we want to pay extra for, that is.

With vB, perhaps....they cater to the corporate markets though.

Who actually pays for forum scripts and modules? I never have, not since YaBB Gold was a new thing.

While interesting, none of this is really what I was looking for...I was just asking the mods if they might set up a way where members could change their user titles as perhaps a preference in our settings...I've able to do it on other forums easily within profile settings with no issues...not really interested in add-ons or modules, programs, or code and all that....

I didn't mention it, but I do understand that even though I've ran sites with twice as as many members, the shear level of SEO, cloud-based CDN and monetization involved in this site means you can't just change something at a whim. It's all connected and everything has to be calculated out as to it's effects. Including the cost/benfit ratios and possible CPU/Bandwidth loads.

First of all, I have a limited understanding of the mechanics or IT stuff that makes the forum work.

It is not an issue of the Admins or the Mods being unwilling to try to help with this particular request, just not possible at the moment the way the software works. Just UNABLE to at the moment.

Dude, we do what we can believe it or not. I can't tell you how many members have approached me asking to get their date of birth fixed.
And I have cheerfully taken care of that for them.

As have the other Admins and Mods here.

Many times over. And we are happy to do so for the VU members.

But if it is that important to you, I will ask to see how many $$$ it takes to adjust the programming or whatever and will let you know the address where you can send YOUR money to so this intolerable situation can be be corrected to your liking.:D

Edit for clarity: If you made a post asking for ANY moderator to do something, and 3-4 days passed without any response WHATSOEVER, what would you infer? Was it really that hard to step in and say that it's not yet possible? BTW, thanks for the response, it's greatly appreciated.

If so, I sure would. Because that means that money goes directly to the site admin team, to help out with whatever they see fit. Another way to help out the underground? Yes, please!

The VU Universe does not revolve around you.

The mods and admins you seem to detest so much have actual lives outside the VU forum.

So do the other mods and admins.

I have read through your comments on this thead, and will make my very best effort to keep my 'dysfunctions' from demanding any more of your precious time. I realize that this site doesn't need me, nor does it in any way revolve around me. But it just seems funny to me that the best way to get the attention of a moderator is NOT to ask for one, but to imply they're not doing what they should.

I've already stated that I don't hate or detest the moderators, stop begging for pity. It's not becoming of a staff member.

Just a thought, maybe the help you are seeking for a title change has been watching your posts for the last few days and may be hesitant to do any changing of your title until perhaps you showed just a little more respect rather than snarky comments about the staff?? Just a guess.
