Resistance jumping around with my RDA

I built a new coil, (7-wrap 26g kanthal), and things seem to be okay now... but a few of my past builds showed the resistance on my mod jumping around... up and down, up and down.

Never went down to dangerous levels, but sometimes I'd get a burnt hit not realizing how much my resistance changed... Buh? How did it go from 0.17 to 0.30? And then back down to some other resistance?

still quite new to building, so maybe this is a newb question, but I appreciate your input.

Usually it's some contact problem either the legs of the coil (lose screws, cut legs by over tightening, etc.), or the 510 connection itself. For the 510 connection, I'm doing a regular maintenance, at least every other week. Put a drop or two of alcohol on one end of a q-tip, clean the contacts, use the dry end to wipe it dry. To be on the safe side, let it sit for a Minute, if there's any alcohol left somewhere, it will evaporate meanwhile.

More often than not its the post screws backing out a tad. Or like @Neunerball said, the 510. depending on mod it can also be the 510 on the mod not making solid connection as well. First thing to check though is always gonna be the connection between coil and post. 9 out of 10 times that's the problem.

When I mentioned the 510 connection, I was referring to the connection on the mod.

Yeah, I notice screws becoming unscrewed over time sometimes. And then there's times that I overreact by overtorquing said screws. Right now I'm seeing minor fluctuations (a hundredth of an ohm here or there). I've also been monitoring the 510 on the RDA, which was indeed loose and needed to be screwed in a little more yesterday.

Thank you for the troubleshooting tips, and the Q-tips! :p
