Resistance jumping super high

I've been using rebuildables for awhile now and have never encountered this issue before. I'm running an ijoy combo rdta 2 on an ijoy captain pd270. After taking several hits the ohms will suddenly jump up to 7-9 ohms. It's typically around a 0.15 duel coil build. If I take the tank off the mod and put it back it's back to normal for another several hits. Also, it only happens with the combo. If I put my kylin rta on the same mod it's fine.

Is a grub screw maybe getting loose when its hot from the atty expanding, try pulsing the coils and tighten the screws more while still hot, loosen and retighten 510 if first tip doesnt work

Maybe some dried juice around the 510 pin on the tank causing a bad connection? I had that one happen to me but mine would just give me a no atomizer error. Once I finally figured out what it was I soaked the base in some hot water and flushed under the tap a few times and that fixed it.

Loose post, loose grub screw, split/damaged insulator, bad 510 connection, coil touching something (they move around and expand under heating juice insulates when cool).

You haven’t been vaping a long time if you don’t know the answer to this question!

Thanks for the suggestions everyone. It was a slightly loose screw. Love this rdta but not a fan of the clamping deck it comes with. Luckily that can be changed. As for the last comment. I've been vaping for 3 years but only building for about 6 months. Rude ass comments like that are what keeps me from becoming a regular poster on here.

Do not judge everyone by the rude comments of the few.
We do have a good ignore poster function.
Assholes are everywhere. Just not too thick here.

Don't take it personally. .. some of us are tired of laws that protect us from our own ignorance. It's people that don't learn before doing that cause excessive regulation.

Why do we have speed limits?

Glad you found it and fixed it!

A handful of people here are short and coarse, another handful here can't read carefully, and thus make no sense, kinda like real life. But here you can Ignore people and blissfully keep getting advice when needed.

Seems sometimes some of the people here need a tampon. Whether female or not.

The more batteries go poof the more they cost and the harder they are to get.......

6 months of vaping is more than enough time to learn safe vaping.

I do know safe vaping... No batteries went poof, I know not to try it when the ohms go that high, even though I have a regulated mod that has protection for it. This tank has screw clamps for the leads and what I've found with the help of the decent people here is that one of those clamps keeps working itself loose no matter how much I tighten it. I now have the postless deck they make for it on the way. Maybe you should get the full story before assuming things and making yourself look like an ass.

I'm sorry but step number one for fluctuations in ohm rate is to check connections.. in fact that's step 1 for anything electrically powered.

Ypu can feel insulted if you choose. .. maybe the next person will check the basics. Before wondering if the made a bad purchase.

It's called personal responsibility......

Look, if you don't want to answer a question then just exit the thread. There's no need to be a fucking asshole to people. I figured it was some kind of connection issue however I had never seen the resistance jump that drastically before so I thought I'd ask others with more experience just to make sure it wasn't something more serious.

He DID check connections, and his deck IS faulty. So he checked the basics, asked here, and then correctly realized his purchase was bad, or at least included a stripped clamp post.

Batteries hard shorting was irrelevant to his question because he stated he is using a regulated mod, and his resistance was going Up, not down. Hope you can see this point in how your post was unhelpful and demeaning.

Sometimes we're getting lots of stupid questions, even answers and I even include myself at times. A simple search is too much to ask for nowadays, but sadly it can get so overwhelming that people like the OP, gets the harsher end of the stick. You never know if its a troll, advertising of social media, biased opinion or topics, or actual a legit question somebody might have. You also never know if that person is new, or/and did some research or just jumps on here, wasting every bodies time and effort.

In this case I guess it was uncalled for and I'm glad you could find the problem and fix it. Have to understand both sides, specially if you "know" Honda. Always helpful in my opinion, no candy coating which I appreciate but it can come off harsh. Maybe an off day I don't know but it happens to all of us.

Anyways I wouldn't feel discouraged of posting here. I go grab my tampon and enjoy my Thai iced tea as suggested above :D

Don't let that detour you from being a regular poster. Some people just like getting under people's skin, and also alot of times, more often than not, people think there elitist upper echalon vapists who could never do wrong and know everything. You can't let them bother you simply ignore the ones that get to you and move along.

Don't let people make you not get more educated about vaping
