Rta 4 Newbie?

Hi everyone, I'm buying an RTA but realized how many options are out there.
I vape 3mg (a lot, coming down from 6 mg), between 35 and 60 watts.
The Baby Beast X 4= Extortion Coils are by far my favorites. If I can get better flavor with the RBA within the same range and save on coils, I'm satisfied.
I do worry about juice consumption.
My mods: Alien 220, Minikin 2.

These were suggested for me from folks at vape shops, and forum members:
Troll RTA
Kylin RTA
IJoy Exo
IJoy Limitless Classic
Ammit 25
Griffin 25 Plus

Which one would you pick? Thanks.

Troll v2 or 24mm v2. I've got one on my alien at the moment.
I love it!

Out of all of them for a totally new vaper I'd have to say the Ammit 25 because it's a single coil and extremely easy to build. I did a full review of it that I will link. The Griffin AIO is a very versatile tank that you can grow with as a builder because it has 5 different interchangeable decks. I'll link my review to that as well.

Geekvape Ammit 25

You may also want to check out the Vandy Vape Govad RTA. Very similar to the Ammit just a lot more airflow. Definitely a much looser draw.

If your looking for a great single coil RTA then the Ammit 25 has been getting a lot of votes recently as one of the best.

Thanks! Would a single coil drink less juice?
Yes, and in general you'll get better battery life because you won't be needing as much power as you would if you had two of the same coils in a dual coil deck.

Yes a single coil will require fewer watts which will equal less juice consumption. It's all about your build. Will let other more experienced advise you on coil builds. All I can tell you is, I wish Serpent SMM had been my 1st rta. Easy to install coil & wick. Zero leaks from mine.

for dual coil deck for beginner
griffin 22mm
never used the 25mm but it would probably be the same
griffin 22mm was my second rta
I use 3 of them all day long

Easy to build on
easy to wick
some of the best flavor of anything
and cheap

@Simbah, take it from someone that actually owns all of the tanks you referenced. If you are going to go with a Griffin tank then get the AIO. The versatility alone that it provides the user with is worth the extra money. It's built well and the decks that are available are cheaper than buying a new tank with all those different deck configurations. It is a great starting point for a new vaper until you actually figure out what you really like. It also comes stock with a velocity styled deck and a single coil deck so you don't have to buy the other 3 decks unless you want to.

Dj may have a point
like i said never used the 25 plus
i have the 25 mini and it is a flavorable as the 22
but its build deck is not as roomy as the 22 and is little tricker to build on so i dont recommend it as a first rta
so if the 25 plus and aio are as flavorable then the aio gives you different decks to try out

not sure if multiple dual coil decks helps anything except for build style and maybe fitting slightly larger coils in one deck versus the other. But having the single coil option may be a plus for you.

But having never used one I can not say for sure it has as much build room as the 22mm
I know that sounds strange but the 22mm velocity deck has slightly more room for coils then the 25 mini and because of that it is more forgiving when learning to use an rta

But the other decks you can get for the AIO may give you even more room then the 22mm
SO the griffin AIO is definitely a good option and probably better then the 25 plus since they seem identical otherwise

I don't have links to reviews as I'm on mobile but there is a link to my channel in my dig. Feel free to browse. I'd suggest the pharaoh rta which uses the same decks as the griffin aio as well. Or the exo rta which comes with a single and dual coil deck for around 20 bucks and is a flavor monster. Or anything DJ mentions as well

I'd skip the Kylin mate while it's a great vape your gonna be hit and miss whether you get a leaky one better off looking at the Reload RTA at some point in the future as it's costly but far better quality for that cost

Ijoy Exo it's my favourite RTA at the moment love it offers seperate single and dual coil deck options as well as tall and short chamber options as part of the kit it comes with! For the money you get an awful lot of versatility. Flavour is very impressive more so than the Kylin IMO although it's drip tip isn't great better to run your own 510 drip tip on it

Avoided the troll because it had issues with melting insulator

Not used the others so can't comment

I have reservations about the Griffin AIO simply because the holes leading to the juice flow ports are too small for easy wicking...I have the Velocity (#1) and single-coil (#3) decks that came included, as well as the postless deck (#4).

Part of me is thinking about drilling them out for better flow and easier wicking.

Though it is dual-coil, I can't recommend highly enough the Vandy Vape Kylin...a great build deck, dense vapor, and supreme flavor...and I've had zero leaks.

Very similar is the Geek Vape Ammit Dual-Coil...but at the end of the day, the Vandy Vape Kylin gets my vote.

Cheers,
Ian

Thanks for helping me out. Are postless decks easier to build? I'm leaning towards the Griffin AIO. The IJoy Exo has different versions, doesn't it?

Difficult one this I'd say for first time out velocity style decks are easier to start with normally more forgiving when it comes to how you wick them in my experience

Also get to mount the coil then clip the leads...cant do that on a postless deck have to pre cut before you mount so don't mess up :)

I'm still disappointed so may people have missed out on the exo but yet use overhyped crap that isn't even close to as good as the exo. Idk how it flew under the radar

Isn't the Exo 26 in diameter? I'm not sure which model you are referring to, there are like 4 or 5 of them.
I don't even bother watching these reviewers. I remember when all of them praised the Predator...

It sits flush on pretty much every mod. It might just be 25 at the base but 26 at the widest point. Can't really remember.

I have an Ammit on a mech at the moment,
Have to say the first attempt at wicking was a bust , the bastard leaked all over the place , my second attempt was a balloon popping success, no leaks and great vape .
ymmv.

Does it make a difference having the Kylin without the top cap? I like ss or black.

Pretty sure all the new ones come with the chimney cap. The ones without were the first run and the pre release ones. I have both and it really doesn't make a difference. Never had the glass fall off while refilling with the one that does not have it.

Thanks. I've checked some websites, the black and ss still don't come with the cap yet.
I just ordered the RBA for the Baby Beast, I will start small.
My sweet spot is around 40, 45 watts using the X4 coils. Took me quite a bit of trial and error to figure that out.
Darn it, will I have to fiddle around too much to get the same or better vape from a rebuildable?

Oh, where did you get it?
I got it here in Canada at a local shop. Just started seeping the last week or so. Have had it maybe 3 weeks. It's a V2 with Fill port on top inna Blue box. My buddy has a green one and it seeps also. Seems it actually seeps when I use it. Leave it overnight sitting on the mod and it is pretty much dry.

I replaced the Kylin with the Serpent SMM and love it.

This is what I ended up doing my SS version leaked like a sieve
IMG_1171.JPG
I tried to sort it out ended up snapping the positive pin completely and I didn't use that much force!

IMG_1174.JPG

My replacement deck has been a lot better if I wick it right (look up vaping with vic for the Kylin and how he wicks it) ocassional condensation but nothing to write home about just keep juice control shut when not in use

Still don't like the positive pin on the replacement though it's a two piece like it was originally a BF pin no idea why they chose that!

Sent them an email. I'll see what they say. My base says v1.1 so it's the new one that has been sent out for replacements from what I have read.

ok im curious since I dont own either
the kylin seems to me to be basically the same thing as the ammit dual coil

i hear lots of seeping issues with the kylin yet I barely see anything about the ammit dual.
I hear the kylin is so so so flavorful

can someone who owns both compare the two?

Yep, my fucking Kylin's leak whereas no issues what so ever with leaking with my Reload's. I fucking hate leaky tanks, like that piece of shit from Vaperz Cloud the VCMT, they both leak out the base.

Ease of use wise I would stay away from a post-less until you are comfortable with a velocity styled type of deck or at least something with posts.

I disagree, my 2nd RDA was the Hannya postless and was pretty easy to learn to build on. Postless deck's are just "different" not harder, actually IMO are the easiest deck to build on since you don't have anything in the way.

I own both the Vandy Vape Kylin (with top ring) and the Geek Vape Ammit Dual-Coil.
In many regards, they are equivalent devices.

The Kylin is more slim…the Ammit is a fatter beast.
I’d give a slight nod to the Kylin as it concerns the build deck.
Wicked properly, and in use, burped properly, neither of them have leaked.

Both are capable of producing dense vapor as well as great flavor.

Cheers,
Ian

Me too hate them with a passion! Did say further up in the thread to take a peak the reload instead of the Kylin

My replacement deck honestly hasn't been bad at all ....had the juice control open overnight once because I forgot to close it not a dribble think the early ones were a PoS! Dunno made me wary of Vandyvape stuff now

Yeah I love the Reload, much better build quality, design and Vape than the Kylin IMO. On the Reload it's the simple things like the position of the grub screws for the wire so it won't twist your coil leads about. The Reload is a very well thought out and designed RTA, I'm a huge fan of it. It's my favorite 24mm/25mm Tank.

So I went to a local vape shop where I get my juices today. The kid who helped me out made me a list to add my newbie confusion... He seemed to know his stuff, but what do you think of these?

Coil Art - Azeroth RDTA

VGOD - Trick Tank Pro RDTA

Limitless classic RDTA

Kylin RTA

the vgod IMHO is a cloud chasers tank. It is very airy and has no airflow control. I had one and could barely taste the flavor of my juices but teh clouds were massive
I have two limitless pluses(plusi- still need to figure out the plural of that word) which is basically the same thing but only has a velocity deck, the classic has multiple deck options. It is the second most favorable rta/rdta I have used. My only cons on that tank are the side fill needs a small tiped bottle to work well. The other issues is the top cap is plastic so a drop just the right way it breaks and you can only find resin replacements that cost about $12 each. But it is a great RDTA. Easy to build on easy to wick, very flavorable.

Dont own a kylin but hear its hit or miss on leaking issues

havent heard much good or bad on the azeroth

I really enjoy flavor above all else. Working my way down to 3 mg (hard as hell), this industry keeps unloading new stuff, it's confusing for someone who just started!

Well I'll be damned. Thanks for the Vaping with Nic wicking. That was it. Looks like I had some juice coming out the outer part of the well towards the outside. Looks like not enough cotton and juice seeping out through the press fit.

The Kylin is now alive and kicking again. Been a day and all dry under the base and mod.
