Rust

After letting it sit for almost a year, I just decided to give my cobra another go. There's a rust ring around the plastic tank where the o rings sit. Should I even bother with it now? Can I soak the tank in isopropyl or boil it out?

I would try a vinegar rub.

Don't have vinegar, have to pick some up next time at the store. I've got isopropyl or stove for now.

This thing smells bad too, almost like wine. Good thing I did a full disassemble.

No vinegar, try ketchup. or maybe pickle juice?

Ketchup, really? :confused:No pickle juice either. I'm a bachelor, so I'm lacking basic kitchen stuff. If it's not hot sauce, Sriracha, or beer, then most likely don't have it.

I've got some scotch. Can I clean with that. I'll be talking to my atty "one for you, one for me" :D

For Gods sake, NO STOVE!

Vinegar is gonna cloud the heck out of it for sure!

And not real stoked on Ketchup or Pickle juice because of the acid content.

Walking on the small branch here, perhaps a mix of baking soda and water. Or even toothpaste and a soft cloth.

Again not sure of this perhaps a light mix of that CLR stuff in water as a last resort.

I've got all the metal in isopropyl for now. Was able to rub most of the tank clean. Watching the F1 race, & I'll check everything later.

The wine smell would be the juice breaking down and souring.
