Rx200 getting hot

My rx200 suddenly gets hot and drains batteries fast. Feels like the board itself is what is getting hot because i take out the batteries and they aren't hot. Also drains the batteries really fast. Happens on multiple tanks. Only using 40-50 watts. Sucks, was my favorite mod.

Yeah had mine for a week and did that so sent it back..... Getting sigelei 213 instead.... Batterys lasted 1 day to 1.5... 30-35 watts... I have 2 sigelei s now for awhile with no issues and battery's last almost the same so I'll just stick to the sigelei brand

I would certainly stop using it then ... I had something similar happen with my ZNA, the board short circuited and I had to send it back to have a new board installed. Of course it was tremendously more expensive than an RX and might be cheaper just to buy a new one ... LOL! Good luck!

Mine only gets hot if I chain vape for a while (at my typical 40-45 watts). I've decided the heat is coming from the hot atty, the batts stay fairly cool.

Sounds like yours has changed over time which would worry me. How bad is reduction of battery life once you notice the difference?

Batteries last less than half the time they used to. Warmth is coming from chip, as far as I can tell. Im just gonna junk the mod.

Ya, that may be the prudent thing to do Adam.

The only other thought I have is I think they used to have issues with the ribbon cable from the screen rubbing on the case, or something like that. Google it and you'll probably find more about it if you're interested.

Do you know what version of the firmware you are running? From off, press the fire button 20 or more times will report the version. Some versions seems to have this problem and some don't. Like mine would get warm even just vaping at 10 watts with either v1.07 or v1.08, but not with v3.0 and v3.1. But someone reported that theirs got hot with v3.0, but not with 3.1.

That is quite interesting. I got my two RX200s back in January. Then in February I started to buy DNA200 mods. So my RX200s have been sitting most of the time doing nothing the last few months with the batteries installed. I am thinking that maybe I should remove those batteries.

You reminded me to check my VS DNA40 :). It's got a built in batt which runs down after a few months.
