RX200 (is it a good mod to grow into?) & Vaporesso SS316(will it work with the RX200?)

Good Day,

I have done some research and looking to make final decision on which tank to purchase with the RX200. I am no expert in vaping and have limited knowledge. I want is an opportunity to grow into my mod, so I don't want to limit myself.

I figure purchasing a RX200 will give me flexibility in using wattages, temp control, etc., Is this true? Would the RX200 be a solid choice and allow for me to grow into baking experience?

Next is the tank. I am not ready for or looking to rebuild coils and the like... not at this point. So I'm looking at sub ohm tanks... Hope this is correct? Right now the tank I am really interested in is by Vaporesso, The Gemini SS316. Would this tank fit the RX200, properly? I am a bit hesitant as I read on forum that some tanks(with longer 510 threads?) may pose problems for the RX200. Does anyone know if the Vaporesso SS316 will work with the RX200 without problems? If so, I will purchase both the SS Ccells/atomizers and Kanthal. I heard the nickel may not be a good option for me, just yet.

Last but not least, what other tanks will work best( best flavor and value) with the RX200? I am most interested in best flavor rather than huge clouds. Huge clouds equate to more juice used and more battery power used, correct?

I seek your input and advice regarding the above. Thanks, in advance! Hope to hear from you, soon!

HAPPY VAPING TO YOU!

I think you will find the RX200 to be an awesome mod. It is very versatile and has amazing battery life. Get yourself a good charger and a spare set of batteries as well. I use a SMOK TF-TA G2 and a SMOK TF-V4 on my RX200. The RTA is a rebuildable tank atomizer, a nice cross between an RDA and a sub ohm tank. My TF-V4 is a workhorse and the top fill (on both SMOK tanks) is very convenient. The RX200 firmware (version 3.10) makes the RX200 a true 250W device, not that you'll ever use that level of power. Whatever you choose, I wish you luck and happy vaping!

The Vaporesso Gemini is 22.5 mm, so it will fit the RX 200 just fine. I do not own the RX, but I'm sure just about any tank will work on it.

Check the length of the 510 post on the tank. Longer ones have problems.
I have had no problem with the Crown or the Bachelor on my RX200.

RX is a great mod and as long as you have some experience under the belt, it's a good choice. The way Joyetech is with updates on it you can almost say it's future proof. I love mine and use it everyday. Like others said, just make sure to get some good batteries (I use the brown LG's) and an external charger.

Welcome to VU!

The RX200 will allow you to grow into vaping, it has all the features and power you will need as you figure out what you really want to get out of your vaping experience. As for the tank, I have not ever used the Gemini SS316, so I cannot offer an opinion on it specifically. What I can say is that I love my Crown tanks for the flavor and vapor they produce, it may be an alternative for you to consider.

You'll be fine with the RX. It was my first Big Mod, and you can grow into it. Make sure you have a good charger, and two good sets of batteries. I use mine daily, and I will tell you it's solid and extremely functional. The only down side is that it isn't very portable. It's big and heavy, just keep that in mind. The Cuboid is just as good, and more portable. I have both, so I speak from experience.

I can carry 2 rx200's in a single back pocket, no problem... just gotta make sure that my belt is tight.

Avoid the skinny jeans and you'll be just fine. :)

If you're wearing skinny jeans, you might to carry your mod and supplies in your purse instead. :D
Okay, so if I have to go out and buy skinny jeans, and a purse, then the RX200 just got way to expensive for me. I guess it comes off the table.

Ok, I made a mistake, I initially thought you were referring to the Gemini RTA 22mm. I believe you are referring to the Gemini Sub-ohm Ceramic cCell tank. This tank has a 5.02mm 510, so it MIGHT be ok, but is still on the long side for a JoyeTech/Wismec/eLeaf product. Why do I say that, see the link at the bottom of the post...Does everyone remember the posts/emails about the SMOK TFv4 not being supported, that it's 510 was too long and could cause damage, and the warranty would not be honored?

Well, the Smok TFv4's 510 pin is 4.82mm long, while the Gemini Sub-Ohm cCell is 5.02mm long. The Gemini 22mm RTA is 5.6mm long!

--------------------------------------------------------

Original post about Gemini 22mm RTA
--------------------------------------------------------
Whoops, I wish I had seen this earlier. The 510 pin on the Gemini is too LONG for use on JoyeTech/Wismec/eLeaf products.

I have a Cuboid, and the RX200... On the Cuboid it will not screw down all the way, and I do not force it either, but it works, I can use the RTA and do TC... On the RX200, not only does it not screw down, but unless you leave it a bit loose, or use some type of 510 spacers, Temperature control will not work! At least that is my experience, as well as a few others I have read about..Whatever you do, DO NOT try to tighten it all the way down on the RX200, you will damage the 510 connection on the RX200.

BTW, the Gemini has the LONGEST 510 out of all of all the popular RTAs, and RDAs, --> 5.6mm

Here is a link to a spreadsheet by a popular Youtube reviewer : djlsbvapes

http://www.djlsbvapes.com/510-connectors-length/

For me, the RX200 will not pick up the resistance most of the time, and will either drop out of TC as soon as you enter, or show the resistance of the previous coil, and constantly hit temperature protection, and not heat the coil....You can either buy a 510 heatsink, or a 510 spacer/protector, or make one yourself.....Personally I'm getting rid of my Gemini, as it doesn't work any better than the Griffin for me....and isn't worth the trouble, or potential damage it can do......

BTW, am referring to the 22mm versions....I have NO idea about the Gemini 25mm

The Herakles Plus is a sub-ohm tank though, right? Do they make it in a RTA like the Griffin, or Gemini?

I received the RX200 and both the Crown and Gemini Sub Ohm Tanks... & Both fit flush on the RX200! Yessssssss! I also received the VTC5's... But I can't use em yet...:/ waiting on my Nitecore I4 charger and the 30Q's!! I'm so excited!

Since, I'm so new to vaping not sure if and/or how I will determine which tank works best, for flavor... I'm sure I'll know what a dri hit and/or a burnt hit taste like. I have a variety of coils... from .05, .25, .8,(SS's) & .9(Kanthol). Maybe, I'll try the Hercules Sub Ohm Tank, next...if it's good for flavor! Out of the three which it the most juice guzzling?

Ok, just wanted to share... THANKS, EVERYONE! :vapemail::bingo: Guess, I shouldnt be so excited until I actually try the tanks. Nope, I'm still excited!:)

Anyone have success with the Gemini Sub Tank?

Congrats on the setup, I have utmost faith that it will serve you well. As for which tank guzzles juice more, that's a little more complicated. It really boils down to what kind of coil you are using, for example, a quad coil will definitely go through juice quicker than a single coil. My experience says that all things being equal (in general), most subtanks are about even (more or less) with how fast they go through the juice. Basically, if it is the same ohm coil, and the same style coil (single vs. dual vs. triple vs. etc.), then you will likely get just about the same results from each of them. Again, this is all in rough generalities, and is a pretty good gauge for estimating. My Crown, TFV4 Mini, and TopTank all "seem" to go through juice at about the same rate when they are coiled identically (same coil on the build decks) with the same settings on the mod. Don't get me wrong, the performance is different, but juice consumption seems about even. I would suggest trying them out to see which one works best for you with your juice and taste preferences.

I've heard Vaporesso Gemini SS316 w/Pre-built Ceramic Coils is great on Flavor! I also heard the Uwell Crown Sub Ohm Tank w/Pre-built coils is awesome! Also heard the Kanger Subtank Mini was worth at least an honorable mention. Are there others that match or exceed flavor production! I heard the TFV4 guzzled waaay too much juice? Do you agree with the above, not agree? Please share your thoughts!

Also, what would be the best coils to purchase as replacements, for flavor?
Good Day Fellow Vapster's!
I am very happy to say, after receiving my RX200, Vaporesso Gemini Tank w/coils, batteries, etc., I experienced my first vape using the combination!!!:stars: The first few hits had a kinda burnt taste, but every vape after has been like a dream come true! Breakfast at Teleo's "The Milk" never tasted so good!:shades: I must thank all of my fellow Vapsters, for sharing information, insight, and direction! Haven't used the Crown tank or coils, yet.

I still have alot to learn, surely. I'm so confused, as it pertains to Wattage Mode, Temp Mode, etc., When I tried to vape in Temp SS mode, Temp Control icon appears and no vaping is allowed. 100c, 200watts... I can change the temp freely but have no idea how to lower the wattage.:(, while in Temp SS mode and no matter how low I change temp to, Temp Control pops up. I have no idea what's going on:wait: but I am sure someone here does. Please, do advise!

Also, I've been vaping on Wattage mode at like 14-20 watts and the airflow and juice flows are both halfway open; a nice cool and comfortable vape for me. 17.3 is my sweet spot, at this time!:teehee: Would you say that is too low, with the coil I am using or should it be ok? 30-40watts with the airflow & juice flow halfway closed, is firing up much quicker(it startled me at first) and a warmer vape, for sure. But, it was just a bit much for me, at this time.

Any ideas, please share. For now, I'll stick to the wattage mode. Until, I figure this out...with your help, of course. I must say, I am very happy and excited and looking forward to this wonderful world of vaping!:bingo: Thanks, again!

Your temp to watt ratio is way off. 200w will hit 100c real quick. Up your temp and lower your watts. Try 400f and 40 degrees, see how that works.

Thanks Skt239!

The problem I am having is I am not sure how to manipulate the degrees. I can't seem to figure out how to access the option, while in Temp Mode. The only thing I am able to manipulate is the temp. And not the watts z while in Temp Mode SS. I know I am doing something wrong, just don't know how to address. Maybe, you can shed insight into how I am to access the watts while in Temp SS mode, please?

Thanks again.

I think I got the answer... 4 Clicks, while in Temp Mode and no more Temp Control Message popping up, preventing me from firing her up. I am vaping on TC, now! 380' 39watts. AWESOME SAUCE! Thanks, Skt239.:bliss:
