Rx200 weird battery readings

Hey all. Got a problem with one of my rx200's. No matter which set of batteries I use (which all read fine on my other devices), it reads the voltage at ~ 3.13v, 5.79v, 4.42v. I was thinking about taking it apart and checking all the connections, but wanted to see if anyone has any suggestions first.

Thanks for any and everything.

It's the rx200 board. On another rx200 and the Wismec dna200, the batteries read correctly.

For some reason all the rx200 and rx200s mods all have different readings. The readings I get from both of mine no matter what batteries I use 3.91 3.86 3.95 on my newest and my older one reads 3.93 3.91 3.91. I was always told this is common, but your's seems a little more "off" than usual. If you have the ability (not everyone is electronically inclined) test the connections going from the batteries (they're wired in series) > Here is a wiring diagram for the rx200

Hope you get it sorted out!

Thanks for the diagram. Gonna disassemble and test today. That diagram will make it much easier as there didn't seem to be many markings from what I've seen on disassembling vids.

Will post back after I have either solved or completely destroyed it LoLz.

Ok so I completely disassembled it. Checked all the board circuits, transistors, and connections. No problems. Took out all the wires and rewired everything. Put it back together and still have the same issue. I am at a complete loss as to what is going on.

In a way, I'm kinda glad as this is my new project, but still would welcome any tips on what to try next. If I can't get it figured out, I'll just throw a DNA board in it and call it a day.

Thanks for any a d all suggestions.

Did you check the ground screw in the battery tray under the little black plug? Apparently it's a common issue. It isn't always tight.

Yeah checked then double checked. I am starting to think the actual spot where the positive wire is soldered on is the problem. I didn't get all the old soldering off when I rewired it so that's the only connection I haven't checked (I think).

Just reflow the solder. If all the connections are verified good, well, the battery voltage readings being off in a $40 mod isn't a real problem for proper operation. Irritating as it may be.

Another bad Rx200. frankly not surprised. Mine is a dumpster fire of problems.... My advice is cut your losses, spare your emotions, and return it or chuck it.

I wouldn't classify it as a bad mod. I have 2 rx200's and the one that's gone bad I've had since the week before they were released. I've dropped it, juiced it, and put it through a year or more of usage.

On my main note, I've isolated the problem on the board near the micro USB where the wires complete the circuit. Don't think I'm gonna be able to fix that, so I'm turning it into a mech mod!

are you going to keep the batteries in series, or parallel?

I'm debating. On one hand, it's super simple to bypass the board and make it a series mech mod. However, 3 batteries in series is going to require a helluva high build and I only have 2 devices that I can build nice high ohm coils in (both are Masons ). I can fairly simply run it in parallel and with 3 25r's I'd have battery life for days. Plus, I can build as I normally do (.15 - .25ohm) and be set.

What do you think the best option would be?

Parallel. If you run it in series you are going to have 12.6v (fully charged) to the atty

I know I just really wanted to try out some 11 wrap framed staples in my 40mm lol. Parallel is the logical choice, I'm just gonna have to move some wiring around.

You mean UNREGULATED MOD, not mechanical mod.. Mechanical mods don't have wires or electrical components as the mod itself IS the circuit.

I stand corrected . I've almost finished with it now, just gonna run some safety tests on it once I get back home tonight.

Um....don't take it apart. Reinstall the 4.00 firmware that initially came with the factory version of the RX200S. I was pissed and didn't care enough to send it back when I thought it was a defective model but...Just sacrifice the 250W total output, which you won't use anyway for the the newest tanks, and enjoy the working great mod. Still not my favorite but a great mod nonetheless for the price. Wismec.com then top right is "support" click it. The scroll down to downloads or software. Then the first icon is labeled RX200"S" firmware updates. Download the first firmware. And Let me know if you are all back to normal with battery % as well. I am. I had a feeling it was the update because it was awesome and flawless when I had it and the update had yet to be released. Hope it works. Made my weekend better now.

Not having an issue with my rx200s m8, it's running great on some custom firmware. My rx200 however, still had the same issue with both previous official firmware versions and custom firmwares.

Thanks for the heads up though, preciate it.

Oh, well I suggest scrapping it and getting one of the many other new generation mods under 50 dollars. Honestly I had the Fuchai 213 Sigelei running at 170W with the TFV8 Cloud Beast tank to test it and it's able to reach higher wattage than I need because of my LG HB4s on a full charge. Worth my money. But sorry thought you meant the S version of the wismec reuleaux. The battery display is a common issue though so I posted my own topic to help others. I've seen it all over the net and had the same issue. I solved it for us people but you're in you're own predicament. Good luck.

Yeah I was quite disappointed with the 213. But damn, that black and gold looks good on the shelf.

Thanks, VapeVillain. I will check that out. I hope Wismec release an update allowing for a faster, IPV5 style fast wattage mode ramp up output time. I think it's such a great device but takes longer than I've ever had to wait before that blast of vapor hits. I sold my friend the Fuchai 213 for 40 bucks with my spare pair of LG HD2 batteries which I no longer use after the HD4 was released a week ago. I recently bought a Smoktech H-Priv 220 dual 18650 VW/TC mod and have no problem reaching 178W which is all I cared to try on a TFV8 V8-T8 coil which can handle that kind of power but I only use 130-135 maximum wattage with two LG HB4 batteries. Regardless of the safety higher mAH cells with less amperage may have for my style of vaping, I'm OCD about having 30amp batteries since LG came out with all of their newer 18650s. I use three LG HD4 25amp 2100mAH batteries in my RX200S and TFV4 .15ohm TF-Q4 coils at 90W like from back in the day. Which I know I could probably use Samsung 25Rs in this case which I might order.
