This is just a tip I've been using for a long time. Airborne tubes are PERFECT for safely carrying 18650 batteries. The batteries are held without rattling due to the plastic spring in the top cap. So, there is no extra ware due to it bouncing around in the tube! So, don't throw out the used tubes after using all the Airborne, repurpose those and never worry about thermal runaway in your pocket or bag again!

Great idea and I just may purchase some.

What I have been using are your standard prescription pill bottles from the pharmacy. If you are lucky enough not to need prescriptions as your parents or grandparents. And I would imagine that just about any pharmacy would either just give them to you or sell them for next to nothing.

Nope, haven't tried them. They remind me of a tampon case. We had a couple of the airborne tubes my wife was about to throw away when I noticed they might work. They're just perfect for the Sony VTC-4's and 5's.
