So I really just need to know if there is a an agreed upon safest 18650 out there and also what is the safest charger. Do they even make the chargers that auto shut off when the battery is maxed out too. Would be great to know as I have 3 small children and definitely don't wanna cause any fires or blow up any batteries.

Generally accepted chargers and ranking.

1. Xtar
2. Efest Luc
3. Nitecore

They will stop charging when the batteries reach full charge, however charging overnight or leaving the charger unattended while in use is not recommended.

What mod will the batteries be used in? That info is needed before a proper recemmendation can be made regarding which batteries you should use.

Thanks I had no idea that made that much of a difference. I need to go into research mode on this apparently. I am using a Classique wood box, and getting a black osmium this week too. I only charge them while I am awake, but since I don't have any of the three you mentioned, i better get to shopping.

Both are unregulated, and both dual batteries in parallel

Samsung 25r's, LG HE2's and Sony VTC4's are the cells you should consider. The first two are 20 amp continuous and the Sony is 30 amp continuous. The 20 amp'ers are more than likely all you will need, but it depends on what kind of resistances you're going to power. Since you're using dual battery mods you need to use married pairs of batteries. Always use two identical cells together. Charge them together and use them in the mod together. Label them so you can keep track of them. You're going to want at least two sets. You could label them 1a, 1b, 2a, 2b. Always keep the 1's together and keep the 2's together. Don't let them get below 3.2v before charging. The charger should terminate at 4.20v with 4.25v being the absolute limit. The Efest Luc V4 is a quality, affordable, 4 bay charger that would serve you well. Get your batteries and charger from a known, trusted vendor. http://liionwholesale.com/ is one of those vendors. They have the charger and batteries I suggested.

Good advice above.

If I had to give an answer as to the saver battery it would be the 25R. It's probably the most forgiving cell of them all.

The reasin is it's very high officially tested pulse limits. 100A for 0.5 seconds is a lot of current even for such a small amount of time. The two ratings if most interest are 45A for 5 seconds and 30A for 6 seconds. Nobody should ever build to a pulse spec, it leaves you open to danger if things go wrong. However if anyone were to get silly with builds the 25R IMO should handle it the best, or at least with relatively confirmed "safety".

Those seem to be one of the ones people are ordering lately. Some people hate Efest saying their re-wrapped other brands but to be honest I've used lots of them and haven't had any problems. I'm also using Imren 3.7 volt 2500mah max 40 amps in my IPV4S and they've been flawless also. So I guess it's like anything else. You can get good and bad in any brand. Just the luck of the draw lol.

It's not that they're band batteries. They're very good. It's that they're lying on the wrapper.

The Imren and efest you have are the exact same LG HE2. OEM LG are cheaper. They're also a 20A cell with no pulse spec, LG do not approve them to be pulsed, making efest 35A claim and imren 40A claim an utter lie. It's damned dangerous for anyone getting into mech mods. They build to the bull crap rating and end up maybe venting a cell.

Only LG can spec their cells. Rewrappers don't have the right to re spec what they didn't make in my opinion.
