Nonprofit production studio Rainfall has created a live action fan film starring the leading character of the Metroid series.
Called Metroid: The Sky Calls, the film is a twelve-minute short following bounty hunter Samus Aran as she explores alien signals picked up in deep space. And yes, you'll see appearances from both the Morph Ball and the Arm Cannon.
According to Rainfall's official post about the film, director Sam Balcomb used a similar style to the Alien films for The Sky Calls' aesthetic. To get its retro look, the film employs "VHS transfers and scanned 16mm film stock."
