In effect, the scientific method is watered down and filtered through previous studies or results that may or may not affect the data and empirical outcome of the initial Hypothesis.
In other words, it's getting to the result you want through big data analysis rather than letting the results prove or disprove your hypothesis. It's the dumbing sideways of the scientific method.
