Screwing down the wires tight on rdas, rtas

why does it seem like the rda posts (where the wire holes are) are drilled down too far so when you screw it in the screw goes down too far and the wire never gets clamped down. Do you know what im talking about. Do you know of any rtas, tanks w/ rba's that have solid steel under where the wire goes thrue the hole so theirs a good contact to clamp down tight on the wire between the bottom of the screw and where the screw tightens down to. wires are easily snipped on these decks. My billow v2 for example. I grinded down the bottom end of the screw smooth but that doesn't do much with the way the posts are. I still got it to work but I snipped 3 coils till I finally got it screwed on perfectly ( not all the way down or else the edge of the hole where theres no steel will cut the wire inbetween the inside of the post and the outside edge of the screw. to be more clear when tightening down the wire, when the screw starts getting tight, instead of tightening the wire down, the wire sinks into the post.

The Velocity is solid where the wire tightens down. Of all the RDAs I have I'm pretty sure that's the only one.

You may want to stick to RDAs that use the grub screws. Since they don't have a top on them they will screw all the way in until they reach the bottom. Keep in mind that most RDAs (and even some tanks) are built for larger gauge wire. So you may run into problems if you are using 26g or smaller with the screw not going down far enough. With all the cloud chasing happening right now most folks are using 22g and the atty designs are becoming more suited to those types of builds. Also keep in mind that (if you're referring to a clone) most clone manufacturers don't give a damn if you can actually use their devices, they just make it "look" like the original without regard to whether their screws and posts are functional. You may have to bump up your wire size to suit your device's needs rather than modding the device to suit yours. Path of least resistance and all that haha

nice to know. Ill try 24 gauge on the billow v2 next build. Maybe the youde Zephyrus had good posts on that rba

do screw diameter sizes vary a lot between rdas? What would be the proper diameter and length on those screws for most rdas? M1.6 x5?
