Sea of Thieves has officially crossed 5 million units sold, just in time for its new Cursed Sails update.
Rare revealed the sales milestone through the official Xbox website, stating the number was achieved through combined Xbox One and PC sales.
This sales number was announced alongside the launch of the Cursed Sails update, which introduces enemy Skeleton Ships, the Brigantine three-player ship, and a new Alliance system.
Rare is also introducing a three-week, time-limited campaign, which includes new goals and rewards each week. All features introduced alongside the campaign will remain in Sea of Thieves after it's done, so players who miss this three-week window will still have an opportunity to experience them.
