It's almost surprising to think that the 2099 franchise has never spawned its own Avengers team before now. Chalk it up to the relative disinterest in the team back during the early '90s. Peter David and Will Sliney are making up for lost time with this Secret Wars tie-in, which also happens to be a continuation of their run on Spider-Man 2099.
