If they were truly concerned they would taken the real Critical Step to Protecting Children and Teens from Tobacco Products which is to ban tobacco. They could have saved millions of lives buy doing so but continue to line their state coffers and their pockets with money built on disease and death.

Do they really believe that people buy this BS? I am amazed with the shit our government spews, it makes me sick.

So waht you are saying Marc ...is if the number of smokers goes down the size of the master payment goes down? I thought the payment was already settled.....ot do you mean as long as people smoke the tobcco companies will pay the states legal graft namely the master payment to turn a blind eye..

As long as people smoke, generate revenue the tobacco companies will continue to line the coffers of our state governments. And I would really say that anyone is turning a blind eye, it appears to me like they (elected officials) are protecting the goose that is laying the golden eggs.

The Tobacco Master Settlement Agreement (MSA) was entered in November 1998, originally between the four largest United States tobacco companies (Philip Morris Inc., R. J. Reynolds, Brown & Williamson and Lorillard – the "original participating manufacturers", referred to as the "Majors") and the attorneys general of 46 states. The states settled their Medicaid lawsuits against the tobacco industry for recovery of their tobacco-related health-care costs, and also exempted the companies from private tort liability regarding harm caused by tobacco use. In exchange, the companies agreed to curtail or cease certain tobacco marketing practices, as well as to pay, in perpetuity, various annual payments to the states to compensate them for some of the medical costs of caring for persons with smoking-related illnesses. The money also funds a new anti-smoking advocacy group, called the American Legacy Foundation that is responsible for such campaigns as The Truth. The settlement also dissolved the tobacco industry groups Tobacco Institute, the Center for Indoor Air Research, and the Council for Tobacco Research. In the MSA, the original participating manufacturers (OPM) agreed to pay a minimum of $206 billion over the first twenty-five years of the agreement.

If you do a search on how some of the money has been used you'll find that New Jersey got busted for using some of it to fix sprinkler systems on golf courses.

That damn Boxxer! I have voted for anyone but her for as long as I can remember, she just won't go away!:cuss2:

The states will be fucked if they don't have the tobacco bond money coming in, those are out to 30 years so that's a big assumption on a future income and vaping is making that assumption a very dangerous one.
What spending will they cut? Welfare programs? Nah.:sneaka:

Once the small vendors are out and only the big dogs are left, big tobacco will fill the gap and a percentage of their juice sales, just like their cigarette sales, will go back to the states to subsidize the missing payments due to a reduction in smoking.

Just a money grab... oh wait, no, it's for the children :wait:

You will find that the most anti - vaping of the states have already spent ALL of their master settlement money and now they owe money on what the borrowed and bonded out every year.

The reason they HAVE to raise cigarette taxes each year: https://projects.propublica.org/graphics/tbcbonds-statemap

Also take notice of the percentages spent that they PROMISED to spend on anti-smoking campaigns.

That anti smoking money has probably been going to all the anti vaping commercials. I see more anti vaping shit on tv than I do anti smoking.
It's all tobacco right? :kickbutt:

I don't know these neo-con scum running the RNC seem like a bunch of globalist shills. They don't seem to stand for much of anything other than getting elected...and they haven't offered any susbstantive fight for freedom in any aspects. If they weren't a bunch of lying back stabbing POS Trump would never had made it this far...hell people aren't voting for Trump so much as voting to kill the RNC...payback is a bitch.

Listen, you're trying to pigeonhole me into a die hard Republican which I am not. I'm not happy with the way the RNC has done things for the past 8 years. All I'm saying is that in general most Republicans are for less government and less regulation especially when compared to most Democrats. That being said all these young hipster type vapers need to forget about safe spaces, transgender bathrooms, and free education. They need to pull their heads out of their collective asses and start voting for people that are for less government and regulation. If they care about vaping at all.
