too much cotton down the juice holes?
It does sound like a touch too much wick, not keeping up with your vaping.
I know I overwick a bit, I can't use 4+ volts as a rule without dry hits. But I don't have leaking issues, so I've got that going for me.
I love the convenience of my top-fill attys, but I do get a flavor bump (and a few extra bubbles) and can even up the temp and/or power briefly after a refill. Wet wicks baby.
Can't say it's a concern, and I don't think I can change it without living with leaking or flooding.
But if you need to burp the tank, you may have no choice but to thin the tails a bit.
Try it... see if the problem goes away.
