Tough call bro. I love my Serpent Mini but I just got my Merlin Mini today. I need a few days with the Merlin though. I'll be posting a review of the Merlin Sunday night. So far though first impression, I'm digging this Merlin Mini.

does the merlin have JFC?
yes it does.

also to many of those that claim merlin leaks. it does leak when you do not close the Juice control while refilling.
this creates pressure i guess so be sure to close it. it's a solid tank i love it.
the air flow control by default is install in the center. for me its a bit tight but i have it on for now.

they both seem identical, which one works the best? which one sucks?
I have both & the Merlin Mini has a bit more versatility since it comes with both single & dual coil decks. But I haven't used the dual deck cos 2ml of juice doesn't last long with a single coil, I imagine it will drink it even faster with the dual. Mini also has the 2 included airflow restrictors.

TBH the Merlin Mini has a edge on flavor & slightly more airflow to me. The Serpent Mini seems to drink a little bit less juice.

The Serpent Mini does not have jfc. Both Merlins, the original and the Mini do indeed have jfc.

Variety's the very spice of life, that gives it all it's flavour.

The Merlin has jfc the Merlin Mini does not have jfc.
There is JFC on the Merlin Mini, it just doesn't totally shut off the juice flow. It can regulate it to wide open or covered. The covered (closed) still allows a restricted juice flow, but not a complete shut off. I use it with the JFC wide open and can see the bottoms of my wicks. I also vape 80vg juice in the Merlin Mini so it helps to have the JFC wide open/uncovered.

The flavor is fantastic. Just wish it held more than 2ml

I have the Serpent Mini 25 and the Merlin Mini, never used the 22mm Serpent Mini.

Of the two that I have I'd have to go with the Serpent, without question, in nearly every department. The only thing I like better on the Merlin is the design of the single coil deck.

The Serpent holds twice as much juice. The airflow, while comparable, is much smoother on the Serpent in my experience. I have two Merlin Minis and they're both noisy even when they're not whistling, which they do unless the airflow is wide open with the dual coil deck in. Close it off at all with either deck(not counting restrictor screws, just AFC) and it gets pretty annoying.

With identical builds, dual or single coil, the Serpent has better flavor, probably due to the smaller deck(16mm versus 18).

Due to the size and design of the single coil deck on the Merlin you can run a massive coil in it. If you plan to run a single coil build on a dual battery mod, that'd probably be the better option. I'm sure you can get great flavor from it, you just have to build big enough to fill that deck. I got it for my VT75 Nano, which I try to stay at 50w or under with, and I'm having trouble getting a flavorful vape at those power levels.

Also, you can toss some pretty respectable clouds with the Merlin's huge dual coil deck as long as you don't mind constantly refilling.

They both have their pros and cons, but in my opinion the Serpent Mini 25 is the better of the two. Like I said though, I can't speak on the 22mm version.
