I am a little confused.

In the specs you listed, it says "Supported pass through mod"

Then you reference this "USB Cable for updates only"

In my tiny mind, the term Pass Through normally means that the device is drawing power from an external source via the USB cable while you are using it.

Can you clarify this for me?

The iPV 4S doesn't support a micro USB charge. The USB port is only for updating the software. Also the iPV 4S reaches a maximum of 120 watts and not 100 watts. It's definitely a great box mod with improvements from the previous iPV4. however; if you own a iPV4 I recommend updating the firmware. You will be able to fire 120 watts.
