Should I buy IPV4S or IPV D2?

I purchased my first RDA about a week ago and now I'm looking to upgrade from my 50 watt e leaf. I'm either purchasing the IPV4S or the IPV D2. Which one would you guys go with?

And just so you know, I'm rocking the Tugboat V2.

Also, if you guys have a better suggestion for my first 'real' mod, let me know. I'm not trying to spend and outrageous amount and I like the idea of temp control. I don't know a whole lot about it but I've been read up on it.

Depends more on your convenience. Personally prefer the D2. Easier to carry around....when I get home usually change to mech mods (love my Dimitri). Never done TC and don't think I'll be using it for a while. Anyways I did buy the d2 and a cloupor mini plus. Think that at those prices it won't matter if they end up being bad. I'd suggest for you to buy one first, then the other ...it's always good to have backups jic.

And that's what I was thinking. The only reason I ask is because the dude at the vape shop I go to had an RDA on the D2 and he said he loved it. Plus I think the D2 is a little newer and I wasn't sure if it was nicer/worked better than the IPV4S.

Well they're both good..if you want dual batts then the V4 would be the obvious choice...
If you want a single batt mod then you wouldn't go wrong with the power packed 75w D2..
I have both...I like the D2 when I'm driving or down at the casino..
I vape the V4 at home, using it mostly for my cloud blowin RDA's, dripping...either one is a good choice...depends on your preferences I reckon...good luck and let us know what you end up with...

Check the hohm wrecker 151 TC mod. I'd go for something like that one if i was going for my second one.......the orange one looks nice

Yeah, I work outside all day. That's another thing I have to factor in. I really want something that can pack a punch but the IPV4 is pretty big and might be a pain in the ass to carry around while doing lawn work.

Again I think you'd like the small, compact and well built IPVD2...
It easily fits in my shirt pocket, always at the ready...
I also like the in-mod charging option as I keep it in the protective silicon sleeve seen here....

Like I said it's now my favorite out and about mod...its great!

Good call. IPV3 Li has Temp control and 200W, dual batt. Pretty much all the wattage and features you'd ever need. Don't like TC? Don't use it

The D2 should be fine for an RDA, depending on how you build it. If you are gonna go crazy with it, then you will probably need something a little more powerful. Of course you could build your RDA with a Ni/Ti coil and use it with temperature control too, in which case the D2 should be ideal.

I'm not so sure that the HOHM Wrecker is worth the cost. I've only seen one video so far on it, and it looks a lot like a prototype with some issues at a premium price. In fairness though, I have not seen one in person, nor tried one, so my opinion on it is pure speculation based on limited information. The reality is that you can get a 150-200 watt proven mod (Sigelei/IPV/SnowWolf/etc.) that will meet your needs and still have a bit of cash left over.

Yup, true. Do like that it goes to .05 build. I usually only build as low as .35 but is nice to have that amplitude... Think they have a deal at Vapor Joes and takes the price down to like $72 which is not that bad if the specs are right.

@Matrize i would suggest the ipv3li as an option to also use titanium or nickel in your RDA and it jumps out the box with 200watts if you should need it using your tugboat but in retrospect all the above mods have their own place it all depends what you are looking for from ypur vape experience good luck on your decision

Packing a punch and small form factor are usually exclusive. I just bought a ipv4s, but its on a slow boat from China. So I must be patient. Maybe you need both?

Forsure. Had the 3li when it first came out but sold it cause it didn't fit what I needed it to at the time. Went with the ipv mini 2. It finally died so my gf got me another 3li for my bday. Just hit a .23 twisted 24 dual build with 200 watts. Holy fog lol

I have an IPV D2, Snow Wolf 200 LE and the Istick 100W. All have their plus and minuses. My wife uses the D2 with a dripper and has no issues, runs it at 70 watts most of the time and battery life is ok. I use the sw200 the most, has 200 watts, although it does pulse above 150 watts, does tc with ni200 just fine, but its a little wonky with ti, probably because the mod is not programmed for it. The Istick 100w is more of a back up device and does a nice job for what it is. I am going to be getting the IPV3 LI soon just to have another device to use and learn more about vaping and tc. The IPV 4/s has no interest to me, I think the IPV3 LI usurps it.
