Hey guys, I vape for the hobby of it. I vape non nicotine and I never smoked cigarettes. I had lost my mod for a few days, I was using a subox mini up until that point. I had never built an rda or any coil so when my new rda came in the mail, I built the coil at .4 ohms and threw it on the mad hatter rda. I took a few hits out of it and it was amazing. I took a few more hits from it, and I just continued on with my day. Id say that around 5 minutes had passed and my throat hurt like a bitch. I waited 2 hours before using the vape again. I took a few hits, and then later the pain came back in my throat even stronger. Today it's 3 days later and I have a cold, I'm coughing up mucus, and my throat still hurts like a bitch. Is this just a coincidence? Or did the rda cause this.

I think you were coming down with a cold, your throat/sinuses were marginal, anyway, and the vaping just exacerbated their irritation. Colds are viruses. Unless the cold virus was on the RDA or in the juice you were using: Coincidence.
I actually just got over a cold and I will say FA peppermint got me through it. Some juices really are unfriendly towards sore throats and colds. Many people keep menthol type vapes around just for that very reason. I would try kicking down your wattage and finding a milder mentholated vape if possible.
That cold I had was some nasty shit to. Might be the worst cold I have even had. Sore itchy throat initially and then 7 strait days(no exageration) of complete sinus block and feeling like my head was gonna explode. I spent nearly $60 on a variety of meds and nothing would touch it so hit that vitamin c and vicks and good luck.

Are you vaping a high VG juice? High PG? If inhaling stuff you're not used to inhaling, it could actually be from vaping. You weren't a smoker, it could be your body adjusting. I'm not trying to be a naysayer, and yes, it very well could be coincidence with everything going around right now. I get exactly the way you described when I vape high VG mixes. If you're using high PG, it could be why your throat is hurting. If it's from vaping, your body will likely adjust to it.
I certainly understand the hobby aspect, but I'm curious why you decided to start, aside from that.

My buddy had told me about all the flavors, and it really got me interested. I started with the ego pen, and I really just liked the flavors. I never messed with nicotine because I don't want to get addicted. Now coil building and all that is a really interesting hobby for me.
