Was looking at the after market type silicon cases available from SweetVapes in 1O different colors..
Has anybody tried these yet?
At only $5 apiece I might order a couple as my stock case has stretched out and fitting rather loosely ..thx

Yes, the material is thicker and the display window is smaller but does not hide the active part of the display. Note they are marked with IPV logo.

Looks good! If I ever decide to use a silicone case on mine, I know where to find one now. At the moment, I prefer the carbon fiber wrap that came with it, it just looks sexy. Thanks for posting!

I wonder if those replacement sleeves are as "grippy" as the one that came with it...

I find them to be more "grippy" than the one that came with it and they don't slide around on the mod.
Thx! I'll place an order for a couple as soon as I'm done typing this! Thx again

Where do you get that yellow?
I'm not sure where the OP ordered his but I just ordered two from SweetVapes, they had them in 10 different colors, including Yellow I believe..I ordered one in Frost Transparent and the other one in Black, for like $5 apiece..be here later this week...

Actually I didn't like the frost that much

How hard are they to put on and take off?

Not too hard but taking them on and off stretched them out and don't fit as tight as they were new ..So now after installing this new case from SweetVapes I'm in-mod charging via 5v USB and supplied charging cord..working good so far..

Yeah, I have a couple of the HG2s in the rotation for that reason.

However... 75 watts is pushing a single 20A 18650, even considering the headroom that the separation of regulation affords. That high mAh Efest tests out as a 10A continuous/20A pulse cell.

http://lygte-info.dk/review/batteries2012/Efest IMR18650 3100mAh (Purple) 2014 UK.html

I know Steam Engine has a tab for checking loads on both sides of the reg divide, and quite a few mod presets. I'd have a look just for peace of mind.
Oh boy. Guess I'll back the watts down a little

Lol well I will plead the 5th. Mostly though around 50 watts. On a .25 crown tank. But I only take about 10 puffs an hour.

You might be fine there, or at least not bad. That's about 14-15A at the tank. At the battery is different though (I need to try to find a relevant post).
Obviously the newer low res/high power TC tank heads can really put a battery to the test. And the low limit on the D2 is 0.05. So RDA builds could just hammer a top shelf cell.

Go play with the Battery and Range tabs at www.steam-engine.org. It's not their job to police the preset's data, so they still show that Efest as 20A. I just quickly grabbed that test data, so you should read through those data graphs as well to verify. Just to play it safe.

The separation of the battery from the atty by a regulating chip makes it a different ball o'wax from a mechanical mod. But I can't say where that extra "safety headroom" ends. If you learn that, or one of our experts comes in and explains... great, tell me too. :D
Until then... safety, eh?
Thanks for the link. I'll just stay under 60 watts. I don't quite understand the headroom but at 1% headroom I should be OK.

I'm not a chain vapor and only rake like 3 second pulls so I'll just move forward and monitor
