Spoilers for "Runaways Devaluation" within.

With the necessary setup out of the way, “Runaway Devaluation” joyously returns Silion Valley to its laugh-a-minute status quo and brings the rest of the cast back into the fold. With the Hooli lawsuit looming, Richard and Erlich have to go crawling back to the venture capital firms they so egregiously insulted days earlier, while Dinesh and Gilfoyle are blessed with a hilarious Kickstarter subplot.

Let’s start there. Dinseh and Gilfoyle were woefully underutilized in the premiere episode, but “Runaway Devaluation” makes up for it. Dinesh tries to foil his cousin’s Kickstarter campaign for an app that lets the user send “bros” to other users with the app (and nothing more), and the high point is a hilarious montage of Dinesh making up translations of “bro” in other languages to turn people off from donating to the campaign. There’s some other funny stuff for Dinesh here too, including his conviction that he was the “cool cousin” and speaking Pakistani when he gets heated. Naturally, Gilfoyle is there to egg him on and mess with him at every turn, reinvigorating the series’ best rivalry.
