Silicon Valley’s sophomore season proved that this Mike Judge comedy has plenty of mileage in its tanks, as long as the length of the season works in its favor. Despite a couple of disappointing episodes and other small hiccups, the Pied Piper gang’s second outing was full of fun shenanigans, surprisingly powerful drama, and top-notch performances.
The overarching plot of Season 2 was a lawsuit in which Gavin Belson’s Hooli claimed ownership over Pied Piper, citing that Richard used Hooli equipment during his development process. With the lawsuit complicating their funding ventures, Pied Piper seeks financial refuge with eccentric billionaire (like millionaire, but with a “B”) Russ Hanneman who leads them down a path of questionable sponsorships and swag. The season was really about Richard’s growth as a CEO and his ability to lead his team through troubled waters… with plenty of dick jokes along the way.
