Spoilers for "Server Space" within.
After a long string of bad luck and shortcomings, “Server Space” finally gives Pied Piper a check mark in the “win” column for the first time since winning Tech Crunch Disrupt at the end of Season 1. Better yet, this episode neglects the more problematic elements of the current season and is stellar because of it.
With Gavin Belson snatching up all the available server space to foil Pied Piper’s expansion, the gang is stuck operating out of Erlich’s incubator while they opt to build their own. This episode was incredibly strong in showing the Pied Piper gang’s ingenuity, particularly Gilfoyle who volunteers to build the servers in the first place. As a result, their product will only be stronger. For a character that’s so hell-bent on giving off an air of indifference, it was refreshing to see him put his best foot forward and show off what he can do (while still being a jerk).
