try going back to the original version hardware and see if that fixes it...Seems a lot of people are having issues doing any type of upgrades on quite a few different mods...I just left the ones I can upgrade alone so far.

Did you try updating it with the correct version of the update? There are two different updates and it depends on which firmware your device had to begin with as to which you're supposed to use. This is from the smok website for the alien.

"There are A and B two versions of Alien220 mod with the same function as for its improvement of MCU. Edition A will display V1.x.x (newest is V1.2.11) when powered on, while edition B will display VB1.x.x (newest is VB1.0.2). Please make sure the device version and download the corresponding version before firmware upgrading, for A and B version is totally different and cannot be employed universally. (You can brush up the device with the correct version if incorrect version is upgraded, and unmatched firmware upgrading is not recommended for potential risk)"

Thanks for trying to help yet i clearly state the version i upgraded to. No it wasn't the b version it was 1.2.2. I'm not going to update or mess with it on the chance i mess it up more and becomes completely useless. Thanks for the advice though just wanted to share my experience.

The version you updated to isn't the newest version if it's 1.2.2. I was only pointing out that apparently there are two versions, a v1.x.x and a vB1.x.x. Verifying ahead of time which it was, v1 or vb1 would indicate which version of 1.2.11 should be used to update the device. Some have mistakenly read it v.1.2.1.1 and it's a bit backwards due to the decimal and lack of a 0 in front of the 2. 2 is lower than 11 so 1.2.11 is ending in 11 rather than the 2 of 1.2.2.

It may be worth a shot. If nothing else, if the device is still under warranty it might be worth considering a replacement.
