Smok Big Baby RBA shorting out

So I needed something with more capacity while I wait on the Kylin to come in. Vape NE doesn't have a date when they will be in stock again. So grabbed the big baby with RBA section to have something hold me over. My Adv was a baby beast.

I got hooked up at one of my local shops with some small pre built coils, some smaller pre spun Clapton wire, 24 gauge SS wire, free cotton bacon pack. Half of which was free so I can't complain.

I spent 4 hours on this deck and 1 side for the life of me keeps shorting out. The same one side works perfectly and coils glow even from the inside out. I even switched the coils around but same issue. I have 20/18 slightly better 20/20 vision and the legs look like they were having a good connection. Aside from how it was assembled my only guess is water from the pre cleaning I did was causing a short. I cleaned it earlier an hour or two before I started throwing builds on.

FYI This is before the cap is screwed on in the pulse fire stage. As heat comes the coils go everywhere in ohm readings and eventually goes to no atomizer. I tried the same rba deck on the baby beast to see if readings were the same and it is. So the base is fine.

Other than the potential water shortage is there other possible options. I tried about 2 different coil varieties and 1 made coil. None were spaced and looked good in my eyes

I don't know about your issue specifically but it took me a good 4 hours to figure out why the rba deck wouldn't work on my big baby and it ended up being it was shorting between the deck and the base. I was able to get it to fire correctly if I unscrewed the deck a half or three quarters of a turn. It might be worth trying that to see if it's at all a similar issue.

But if it's firing on one side and not the other and you have eliminated the coil that only leaves the hole in the post. Both coils run through the same two posts so It doesn't seem like it would be a short on the other side of it. Good luck either way.
