Smok H-PRIV fire button issue

I have been searching everywhere for a fix to this issue, but I have had no luck. I have the new software 1.1.1 installed, which was done without any trouble, and I thought that would fix it, but...no. The fire button is twitchy to say the least. If I squeeze it fully, just once holding it fully depressed, it acts like I squeezed it several times. If I half squeeze it, sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. It is acting like there is a short in the internals at the button, but I cannot get that far into the MOD to see if there is dirt or maybe juice that got in there and gummed it up. I did have a leak the other day and I did not have any issues prior to that leak, however, that was cleaned up quickly. I rebuilt the RTA and noticed the leak a few minutes later so it wasn't leaking very long. The issues started about 2 to 3 days after that leak. There have been no drops, but it has been knocked over. It is almost impossible to change the setting or even get into the setting with the way this button is malfunctioning. Has anyone had this issue?

I have not had this issue but have you tried contacting your vendor to see if they may replace it under manufacture defect?
Some vendors will charge a fee if they determine it was self inflicted and not manufacture defect.
I like this mod enough I decided to order the other two color schemes to have the entire set.
If mine were damaged, I'd definitely purchase another.
With that said, I will be ordering a replacement for the one I currently have.
I accidently dropped it on concrete.
It still works perfectly fine and all, but 2 corners now have a tiny scratch.
They aren't really noticeable, but I know they are there and it'll bother me.
Once I replace this one, I'll use it while mowing because when I put it in the cup holder of the mower it seems to bump and vibrate enough to wear off the paint.
This way I'll have a nice clean set on my display shelf and a beat up one I can use for those dirtier times like while changing brakes or something.
I know, it's just me.

Now it is showing atomizer short and "do not abuse products". It is a .6 ohm build and it fires without any issues on all my other mods. I'm starting to think SMOK is just junk.

It seems like this is an issue with the other SMOK mods too...so far all I can find is confirmation on SMOK being junk. It started out so good though! I hope this is something I can fix...it is outside the warranty.

I can't say I agree with you.
I have all three color options and none of mine have any troubles.
Isn't it possible that you were lucky enough to get a defective one?
You could buy a brand new Cadillac off the showroom floor and find out 2 days later the windows don't roll down.
That doesn't mean Cadillac is junk.
Just means there is a problem with that particular one.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to push for Smok, I just see all the time where one of a handful of people end up with the same or similar issues and they just automatically assume the manufacture is poor.
Considering where they come from there is a high probability that the quality control is extremely poor but there are many of us that have the same product with no issues.
If you are offended or feel I am singling you out to bitch at, I apologize, I certainly do not mean it that way.
Just stating that not all of these are bad.

You have issue with your mod so you are able to confirm that ALL Smok mods are junk?

I was trying to give the overly polite long version of what you just said.
You chose the direct and to the point path.
I sure could have saved a lot of typing......lol

That was the nice version of what I wanted to say :)
I know it can be frustrating to have issues with a new product but making blanket statements based on emotions are not helpful. I know the mod is firmware upgradeable, maybe checking to see if any updates are available could help? Or, you could try uninstalling then reinstalling the firmware. That worked to correct TC issues I was having with a mod I recently purchased.

I am going to try uninstalling and re-installing the software again. It was happening before I updated the software and continued after. I also find someone that said the installed the selected the software for the R200 to install in their H-PRIV and have no further issues. I'm not sure if that is a good idea or not though.

When I was searching for the solution to the issue I'm having, I found that this issue is present in several of the SMOK mods. Plus, it is what I'm hearing in person from several around me. Now, that said, it is true that maybe there was a bad batch and several different stores in a 40 mile radius of me ended up with those. It's like trying to sell a Nova in Mexico. It was a great car in the states...(Only a few will catch that joke). Anyway, I did like this MOD a lot when it was working.

And it would seem like I offended a few people judging from their reaction to my post. I had no intention of doing so, but we each have an opinion. Currently, mine is leaning way over to the junk side. I am weighing it from what I have heard. Also, in comparison to other mods that I have had and literally beat the heck out of with drops from 5 feet to pavement (several). Those continued to function properly. My IPV D2 is what I'm back to using and I can't tell you how many times I've had to straighten the battery cover with a pair of pliers because of a drop. That thing looks like crap! But fires everytime without fail.

So, I have tried to reinstall the software several more times and still the issue continues. I tried with the config box checked, without the config box checked, erase all then install, just an install, several different ways and several different tries each way. Most of the time it will work for a few hits then right back to "Do not abuse products" "Atomizer short". I have also deleted the downloaded tool and reinstalled it several times. If I had to guess, I'm around 30 tries...probably more. Not sure what else to try.

Also, it is not just one tank. It is with all of my tanks including the Nautilus with a 1.8 ohm coil! I have even had others try their tanks and RDA's with the same outcome.

After RE-reading all of this I keep being drawn back to where you stated the following in your first post;
I did have a leak the other day and I did not have any issues prior to that leak, however, that was cleaned up quickly.
So the fact that you blame the manufacture and state the following;
It seems like this is an issue with the other SMOK mods too...so far all I can find is confirmation on SMOK being junk.
I feel that is a bit of a reach.
Don't you feel there is a possibility that when you had this leak it could have actually damaged the mod.
The fact that you did NOT have any issues before the leak seems to point to all the trouble points.
Just my thoughts on it.
Take it for what it's worth.
Me personally, I'd just buy a new one.

I thought about that too. But, it was a few days after the leak, there wasn't a lot of juice that was on the top of the MOD, and it wasn't there for very long. I found that several SMOK mods have this issue. If a little juice COULD cause this, then SMOK is not building quality stuff. I had a total brain fart, left the cap off of an RTA when I put it together, and that MOD was soaked! Cleaned it up and still use it today.

To get at the switch look at DJLsb Vapes review at the 23 minute mark - you would have to hammer out the pin that the fire bar rotates on.

Update: I am one who admits when I'm wrong...and I am wrong in this case for sure. I leaped without looking this time for sure. I did find a lot of people having issues with Smok MODS, but SMOK stands behind there products 100%. I contacted SMOK and explained everything to them including the possibility that juice leaked inside. I was told that juice did not cause this and was told to send the MOD in. I received a brand new H-Priv! I mean it, brand new! Not mine repaired, and I would have been happy just to have mined fixed. They REPLACED it! If that doesn't say a ton about a company and their willingness to stand behind there products, I don't know what does. BTW...I now own a brand new H-Priv and I also purchased a new Smok Alien kit too. That baby beast IS a BEAST!

yeah I haven't heard much on smok mods being bad. matter of fact they've been so good lately i'd say the moved up right behind FSk and DNA mods for me ahead of YiHi mods (especially with the IPV6 issues) and for tanks I'd say smok is the best for premade coil tanks

That is AWESOME!
Glad to know that you had your issue resolved.
I've been really please with SMOK as a company for some time now.
