Good morning vapors. Just got my new smok tank in yesterday when I got home along with my joytech evic VT battery. Was wondering if I should git a bigger box mod for this tank. Mox mod highest it goes is at 60 watts and seems like at 60 it tatse and vapes so good I'm sure more watts will be alot better to git them big coils cooking. Don't want to git one of them crazy box mods that I can't carry in my pocket. Looking for some input thanks again. Hopefully I don't git sick again on this. This will be my third time trying to quit smoking and start vaping longest I went was 6 months. Cheers

What coil are you running? I like the triple coil t about 65-70w on my Reuleaux Rx200. ..Btw the RX uses three batts and is the best mod Ive vaped in a long time and it was only $45!
If you still have your black IPV4 you might try using that at around 65w and bump up slowly to your sweet spot..the smok TFV4 is a great tank, but they seem to like higher wattages--

I find the real flavor comes through at 80 w with the triple coils. Not much going on at 60watts.

Yeah 60w is kind of where the TFV4 coils start to shine. The quad I liked best at 110-125w. The Triple was like 90-100w. The Dual Clapton was solid anywhere from 60-100 though. Of course personal preference matters, I like a warm vape so I was always pushing the coils basically as far as they'd go.

Thought about gitting the noisy cricket or the 100 eleaf trying to stay with a small box mod.

No noisy cricket. That's a series mech box. Meaning you'll get a constant ~8v charge going through it. 8v with .15Ω (quad coil) and you're at 53 amps, no bueno(not to mention that'd be 400w+, not good there either). At the .3Ω dual clapton coil on the higher end of the coils (except for the high resistance coils) you're at 26a, you'd want to get some LG HB2's or something to run it with and those don't hold a charge very long.

Stick to regulated mods.

I hear ya though, the struggle is real on trying to find something sleek but powerful. I thought the cuboid was going to fit that, then they went and put a shitty chip in there so it can't actually pump out 100w+ with a .15Ω coil. I'm using my Sigelei 150 and XCube II, I want to upgrade but the main goal is something more comfortable and I just haven't seen anything that fits yet.

Price/size/power looks like it'd fit. You wouldn't be able to max out the coils but they'd hit very well, only the quad coil would I feel like I would need more on. Another one I was looking at is the IPV5 though a bit more expensive and likely more than you need.

Probally gonna stick with the triple coils now love em at 55 60 I'm sure 75 80 would be excellent

You can see it's shorter than the IPV4..it uses the Reuleaux style box with three batts.. its very comfortable in the hand, and surprisingly compact..best mod I've vaped in a long time, and only $45!

I am trying the quad clapton for the first time, and breaking it in. At 95w, it is still a very cool, airy vape with fluffy (not dense) clouds, and soft flavor. I'm hoping it comes alive at slightly higher power, but it's odd to vape at 95w and not yet getting to a sweet spot. I thought the dual clapton was nice around 73-75w, with better flavor that the standard quad coil, which I used around 81w. I also picked up some lower power dual SS coils to try out, plus the clapton TF-RCA, which was roomy and easy to wick.

My guess is more metal needs more power? So the quad clapton just needs more oomph to get going?

Your right, they don't...and they are are expensive..for that reason I got the Griffin RTA last week...huge velocity style dual coil deck, adj juice and air control, super easy to build and produces vapor better than the Smok...my brother vaped mine and immediately ordered both the Griffin and the RX200 mod from VapeNW yesterday...top fill and no leaks...its a tfv4 killer, least it is for me, lol

There is a thread here someplace about the Griffin.. actually it's where I learned about it...At my local shop they charge $8 for one triple tfv4 coil...The rebuildable Griffin was only 26 bucks at Vape Nw...I got a simple 24g dual coil build in it I've been vaping the last 6 days...no dry hits, no leaks and vapes awesome, a spool of 24g Nichrome and a bag of cotton balls will last a long time and only ran me $12...yep, I'm done buying those expensive Smok coils, lol

Yeah the cost of the premade coils is probably the biggest negative about the TFV4, however it's not like we're talking a ridiculous amount of money. It's an extra $9-10 (for the triple) a month compared to something like the Crown. Surely it adds up and is worth considering, but "it's expensive" is more about a relativity than actually being a lot of money (one less day a month of going out to eat basically).

That's using online prices, buying from a vape shop you might as well just double costs on everything.
