Smok TF-RTA G2...minimal flavor

So, I have the Smok TF-RTA with the G2 deck (dual coil). It's a great tank, exchangeable deck, etc. The problem is, no matter how I wick it, or what cotton I use, or what coil build is on it, after the initial few puffs, there is significant flavor loss. I've used the same juices that I use in other tanks in this thing, and the difference is like night and day.

The dual coil builds I use on it range from .25 to .40 ohms, so I'm between 50-70 watts accordingly. Now, the vape is not too hot, the clouds are there, but it's almost as if the flavor is being removed on it's way to the drip tip. I've tried using claptons, twisted coils and regular plain kanthal wire; same results.

I'm thinking that in order to get the best flavor, I need to use "premium" juices that are filled with sweeteners, but that's not something I'm into.

Halp pls.

I have the G2 in mine, got a .36 dual ss316 I run it between 20-30w(higher as the coil gets older), flavor is fine; nice clouds.. in my experience heat(higher wattage's) mutes flavor especially in huge deck covers like on the tf-rta.. if you want to run at that wattage think about getting a limitless or an avocado 24.. rda style setups are far better at flavor at high wattage

I'll give the lower wattage a shot again. But sort of defeats the purpose of building and even using the damn thing .

I can use a regular tank with a stock coil and hit almost 100watts on some of them.
But I can throw some claptons on my RTA, take time centering and wicking, but I'm forced to use 35watts for flavor.

Thanks for the tip though!

tanks in general have muted flavor, how muted varies from tank to tank. In my experience the better flavor tanks are ones with tight restrictive airflow a single coil and running at between 12-15w..between 1.2-1.4 ohm coils..if you want big billowy clouds with great juicy flavor you use an rda.. so we compromise to avoid dripping and driving.. do look at the limitless and avocado 24 (I own the later) they are next generation geni's with velocity decks and cotton wicks, basically an rda with a reservoir bellow

Yeah, I've been eyeing the Limitless since it came out...but I have 4 tanks, 3 RDA's and 2 RTA's...I should stick with one and try to make it work :giggle:
I tried the TF-Rta on 35-40 watts...not too bad!

heh, on my desk sits this tank rack filled with single or limited use tanks and drippers, a island of misfit toys as it were, behind it are the assorted mods and such that have outlived their usability.. still though when I look at the numbers on my banner I figure I am way ahead ;)

Haha. I've only collected 3 mods since I started vaping last October; IPV4s, Tesla Two and Tesla 80tc, so I'm going the less-expensive route lol. My IPV4s has been treating me well since Christmas, but I think it may be time for something new soon.
