SMOK TFV4 Question

So I have a couple questions about my TFV4 that maybe someone can help me with:

1.) I was trying to unscrew the bottom to replace the coil head because it went bad half way through the tank and no matter what I tried the only part that would unscrew was the top piece, and seeing that there was still juice in it I definitely didn't want to unscrew that all the way. Is there something I can do that will make just the bottom unscrew?

2.) I have noticed that when I fill the tank at night so it's ready for day ahead when I wake up there is only 3/4 of the tank full. I have already checked and changed the seals but if I look closely it looks to me like it is leaking through the air holes at the bottom. If anybody could explain that it would help big time.

Thanks in advance

1. You mean you're unscrewing the top part that sits on the glass? That happens to me sometimes, I use a small pair of channel locks to grip by the air control ring and turn it with my other hand. Works every time. Might want to wrap a cloth around it first so you don't accidentally mar your tank.

2. Do you pressurize your tank after you fill it up at night?

1) are you meaning that the coil comes out with the bottom piece? I usually hold tight to the top and the glass with my left hand, then twist the bottom portion (not the airflow ring) of the base and it'll unscrew with the coilhead from the top piece. This can be an issue, you basically have room for about a 1/4-1/3 of a tank in the top portion upside down. To be more exact if you have it upright as long as it's below the top of the coilhead you should be ok and have it not leaking out the chimney.

If you have more juice than that you're going to want to just drain some before repairing, sometimes it sucks but juice will go to waste. I usually just open up the topfill and pour however much I need out into a rag/tissue and accept my loss then close it back up and do what I need to do.

2) Are you seeing leaking? Or are you just noticing a decrease in the juice in the tank? It could be just that your cotton is becoming fully saturated if it's not leaking but just a decrease in juice.

Also, don't fill it to the brim, leave some room at the top, close it up, close the airflow and head to be, this should seal up your tank and make leaking less likely, If you feel you need to top it off (say you're on the go during the day and don't have a juice bottle on hand) then top it off in the morning before heading out. Overfilling is a thing and leaving juice to just soak all night is also juice does simply degrade cotton over time. So ideally you don't want to leave juice in your tank if you don't have to, so you may be better off taking that extra time in the morning rather than the evening.

I am definitely going to try your suggestion with the plier.

And what do you mean by pressurizing; all I do is prime the coils by putting some juice on them, fill the tank and enjoy. Is pressurizing something different?

Your tank acts on a semi-vacuum. The cotton ideally prevents the leak but if you can create more seals it helps. Making sure your orings are performing their function, turning off the airflow when it's not in use, and keeping the topfill portion closed as much as possible (not leaving it open for extended periods of time) this all creates this sort of vacuum that keeps the juice from obeying gravity and simply flowing out the bottom of your coilhead into the airflow.

Cotton isn't magic, if you don't have that negative force from all these things the juice will wick through, drip down the airflow and out of the tank. So just be aware of these things and if you notice leaking check these things.

Take a straw, put it in your drink, put your finger over the top and lift the straw out of the liquid. You'll notice the liquid stays inside the straw, same type of principle. Now release your finger and watch the liquid flow right out. Again same kind of thing. The more you can do to keep it all sealed and keep that negative force intact the better.
