Smok TFV4 VS Crown Tank

Hi guys, been vaping for about 8 weeks now (former smoker) and havent touched a cigarette! I started with the crown Uwell love thetank using a .25 coil in it and its great! Amazing flavor and vapor prodcution. Saturday night i bought the TFV4 came with a qud coil, tripple coil and single rba. i have been vaping the TFV4 and love it but find it not as flavorful as the Crown what you guys think? i been using the quad coil as mentioned anywhere from 70-85 watts. Dont get me wrong the taste is good but not finiding as good as the crown. Am i doing something wrong here? Also I have the airflow wide open on the tank and on the drip tip the air flow is closed. Thanks for any tips or advise!

Welcome aboard.....I think the crown has better flavor too. Additionally, the more air the less flavor.

First and foremost you're comparing two of the best standard tanks, not surprising you'd prefer one over the other, and there are many who like the crown better. As for the TFV4 try the clapton coils next time you get coils, they were a bit better on the flavor. Also, try cranking up that wattage, I always liked the quad coils best at 100-120w, before that it felt a little anemic. The TF-CLP2 coil was the best one I tried, but I haven't tried the new "beast" coils, that one worked better at 70-80w and was more flavorful.

And that top airflow, just keep it closed always, it's never worthwhile, the idea is it can cool the vape for higher wattage, but you end up with no flavor and too much air. Better to turn the wattage down if it's too warm or use a different type of coil than it is to just ruin the vape with that terrible top airflow.

Thanks for the reply! Unfortunately I can only go to 100watts on my cuboid which is weird as I have the 200 watt upgrade. With that being said I have vaped it at 100-90 watts and didn't find much improvement in flavor compared to 70-85 watt range. I'm fairly new to vaping so excuse my ignorance but is The TF-CLP2 coil a pre build coil? And Clapton coils also pre built? I'm going to try the RBA head that came with the kit once I've used the quad and triple coil up!

Yes, the TF-CLP2 is a replacement coil head. The RBA head, that comes with the TFV4 doesn't seem to be good, the from what I've read here on VU. I haven't tried it myself though. However, the dual coil RBA seems to be better.
Here you have the whole collection of the available coil heads http://www.smoktech.com/atomizer/tfv4-big-family

The TF-CLP2 is the first clapton option they put out and the only one I tried, they also have quad and octuple coil clapton versions that again I haven't tried.

Also on your cuboid, it has strict cutoffs with the amps (the reason there is a lot of complaints about it, but it is a good device just doesn't allow you to push the safety constraints as much as some would like). So at .15Ω on the quad coil trying to get 100w out of it you'll be pulling 25.8amps, it won't let you do that, as the cutoff on amperage is 25. So 93.75w is the highest you can go with a .15Ω coil like the quad coil is approximately. The CLP2 is ~.35Ω so you could potentially go up to 218w before hitting that amp limit, although realistically you would get cut off sooner from voltage and you'd burn the crap out of your cotton (again that coil is best at like 70-80w-ish IMO).

Anyways, sounds like you should check out the other coils if you want that TFV4 to shine, the quad coil is more of a "I want the biggest cloud possible" coil anyways, not much on the flavor.

In general naw the single coil isn't great, tons of leg power loss and all that fun stuff. But...http://vapingunderground.com/threads/new-tfv4-vertical-coil-rba.141246/

With some modifications a few of us have made it into a very nice vape (I used it almost exclusively for months until I just made the jump to pure RTAs).
