So my Smok M50/65 started flaking...

Ohm readings all over the map. Dissembled the whole thing. Very easy to take it apart. The M50 version with upgraded firmware with the plastic button. Pop the button out, pull all the screws out and everything slides out. Cleaned the 510 connector a few times, the brass screw especially. Cleaned the top and bottom plates near the screws. After messing with it a few times, its all back together and working like new again. Its all about keeping all the connections super clean. Its been my go to mod for months now, small and effective. Happy vaping camper!

My buddy and I have a m65 pro that suffers from the ramping down the watts as it thinks batteries are dead when they just aren't. Tried the "fix" and it doesn't solve the problem for long.

Its back to flaking. Short lived victory. I don't like spring loaded 510 connectors!

I am just the opposite, I love spring loaded 510 connectors and haven't had much problem with them so far. I would personally suspect something a little more is going on with the Smok ... If it is the 510 connector, then it's likely a cheap component problem.

Maybe it would be easy to swap the connector with a different one and find out? Might take a little soldering and some time, but since I don't own one, not sure if it's easy to get to or not.

Just a thought ... HTH!

Very easy to get to. I'd need lots of heat tho. Just seems like to me something is dirty.
