This is my long winded response/review about my first ever attendance to a vape meet. I am not a sugar coater, and I am not biased. I will also not mention any names unless I have an issue (there's none to be addressed here).
I'll start this with a bit of back story. I've considered going to vape meets for a while because I was very interested in trying new juices, checking out new vaping gear and that sort of thing. I don't really know anyone well enough to try to meet them in person at a meet.
Conveniently, Vape Mania was along my route from home to Myrtle Beach, where I'm currently at on my 4th anniversary vacation with my wife. So, I decided to go to Mania on Sunday.
When I got there, we were blown away at how cloudy it was. If I didn't think everyone there chucked crazy clouds I'd think there were about a dozen fog machines running full blast. Awesome.
Checking out the different vendor booths was fun. I enjoyed trying out juices from vendors I've never heard of and vendors everyone raves about. I tasted some horrible ass shit and some phenomenal juice. One of the vendors even says he puts all proceeds towards something regarding vets which is awesome.
I spent a significant amount of money there at different vendors on deals that I felt were great. I don't mind supporting the community when there's juice prices that aren't oppressive. I make my own juice, so honestly I didn't have to spend a penny. But, this next paragraph is going to decide who likes me and who doesnt, basically.
A huge part o the reason I wanted to go to a meet was because (hearsay, of course) I heard vendors gave out sample bottles of their juices ranging like 3-10ml. And yes, it was quite a big part of my desire to attend a show. I'm always looking for new tastes and good quality juice and I *thought* going to a meet would be beneficial because I could try a few mils of their juice to decide whether I want to make a purchase or not. I drip, I don't tank. Another reason was to check out new stuff on the market and a third is just to check out what the community is like together in person. So let me break it down in a few more paragraphs.
Main reason: samples. I drip, I don't tank. Unfortunately 85% of vendors had their juices in tanks. They offered to drip, but I didn't for two reasons. First is I already had juice on there that I like. Second is I didn't want to mix 150 different juices on the same wicks. So... I could walk around and vape-sample at all the vendors, but only one vendor actually gave sample 10ml bottles of his whole line after I bought a bottle from him. Freaking awesome. However, that was the ONLY vendor who appeared to WANT to get a customer interested in more of his line, aside from MFS who gladly gave out 10ml of a new juice they made if you signed up to their email list. All in all, as far as obtaining samples so I could actually try these guys' juices instead of taking a few puffs on tanks that I don't use personally, I can't say that many people wowed me with juice. And, since I didn't get the opportunity by ANY vendor (except the one, who I still made a purchase from), I guess I'm going to continue not buying any juice. To be blunt, I was very let down by an expectation that I did my best to not have. Horrible grammar there I think but I don't care, lol.
The people that I was around were all pretty cool. None of the attendees bothered me at all, I'm cool with that. The vendors were all pretty cool and friendly, I don't have any issues with anyone.
New vape gear: I didn't see anything that I haven't checked out online, but I'm in love with the ipv4 and the new sigelei 150 TC box. I would love to have one.
To whatever piece of shit stole the 2 different mods that came up missing in the 4 hours I was there, I hope your hands fall off and you become inflicted with severe diarrhea for the rest of your lives. These vendors aren't there to be stolen from. Ignorant.
Now let me talk about one of the coolest parts of the show for the time I spent there. There was a stage on the upper level of the convention center, and occasionally they'd do giveaways there. I'm gonna ask one question: how many of you can say that a really hot woman chucked a bottle of juice and it busted you right in the beak? I CAN!! LOL. I watched so much juice get tossed into the crowd at the stage, I was really impressed at how cool and generous some of those sponsors were! Lots of shirts and tons of juice tossed out into the crowd! The view from the stage must have been hilarous!!! Let's feed the fishies!! My wife was able to catch a couple shirts and some bottles of juice.
So, yeah... I'm sure little old me ain't worth much to anyone but it would've been nice to be able to drip these juices on clean builds of mine instead of "puff puff that's good take all my money" figuratively, of course...
Sent from my mind's rectum.
